I am torn on giving this 3 stars and wish I could give 2.5. The tablet fits as perfect as you would expect from a official accessory. The case materials seem nice and the soft touch back is nice to hold but there are no magnets to hold it shut so it just flops open all the time. Had I known that the case didn't stay shut I would have bought one of the off brand accessories for half the price. Other reviews mentioned that the folded cover doesn't hold the tablet up and I think that is because they are using the case wrong. The triangle created by the cover should be used as the base of the tablet when it is in the landscape position. As other reviewers have mentioned, the tablet does not sleep when the case is closed. The fact that the tablet does not shut off when the case is closed is because the tablet does not have this functionality, it is not the fault of the case.

This case turned out to be all that I expected and more. Thin so it doesn't bulk up the tablet, all controls, ports, and the speaker are accessible and usable. I discovered the magnet strip that holds the edge of the cover when folded into stand mode quite by accident, it's clever design and works well to keep the tablet propped up in a usable position. This case would probably get better reviews if everyone knew about this feature as I have seen some reviews complaining about the stand mode collapsing which is what happens when you don't make proper use of the magnetic feature. Also this case was much less expensive on Amazon than at the Microsoft Store where I bought the tablet.

HP factory cases are the best to use for the HP Stream 7, the aftermarket items never seem to fit properly. The factory HP cases are worth the few extra dollars for the perfect fit, and the expensive tailored look.the magnetic catch stays fastened. If you use it to watch videos you will love the one side of this case easily converts into a very stable stand at the perfect viewing angle that does not turn over. Lightweight protection, tailored look, converts to a stand, I will give this a 10 out of 10 for the best you will find for the HP Stream 7, HP stands behind their product if you have a problem with it for 12 months.

Strangely it seems a tiny bit small, it fits better if I remove the backplate from the tablet first. Maybe you're supposed to do that? I'm not sure, seems like a weird thing to do. But all in all it works. Magnetic closure would be nice, but the stream 7 is what it is - the absolute low end of windows tablets, with all corners cut to deliver surprisingly acceptable performance at a low price... It makes sense to expect the same weird build/quality control issues with it's accessories.It works.

Well, it's not blazing fast but considering the price it's actually pretty good. However I would strongly suggest not to upgrade to Windows 10 !!! Stay with Win8.1 as long as you can. After upgrade you will experience a lot of problems, and even after downloading updated drivers from HP.com it will not work as expected. Especially wifi and battery have serious issues. On top of that with Windows 10 you will see a significantly slower performance.However, if you stick to Win8.1 you should be ok quite content with what you get for the money.

This made for Stream 7 case fits just right, has a good-to-the-touch surface that is not terribly grippy, and provides a good angled stand for the tablet. It seems to wear well. The cover simply rests on the face of the tablet and has no closure device.

I bought this after reading good reviews and realizing that the case I originally purchased made a small, thin tablet very bulky. It's not had to tell after putting this on that this is the case that this case was built for this tablet. It's very thin and allows a lightweight tablet to remain lightweight. There are magnets that help hold the front portion while in use but don't do a great job, but ti me it's a non-factor.
