Fantastic hair color for older ladies with grays
I love this hair color , it’s beautiful and the first color that lasts and covers my grays so well! And it does make my hair more healthy looking! I’m so glad I tried this as I’ve tried other brands of hair coloring and they fade and don’t make my hair feel as healthy as this does! Thank you Age beautiful! But as the directions say choose a lighter shade than usual, cuz the color takes darker than shown I had to go a step lighter than the first color I tried.

My Go-To Hair Color for Gray Coverage
I have purchased and used Zotos AGEbeautiful Permanent Hair Color in 6G Light Golden Brown multiple times, and I keep coming back to it because I love the results. My biggest reason for coloring my hair is covering those stubborn gray hairs that seem to reappear way too quickly! This does an excellent job covering my gray, including around the areas where it tends to be most noticeable. The coverage looks even and natural rather than making my hair look like one solid, artificial color. I especially love the 6G Light Golden Brown shade. On my hair it gives me a beautiful warm, dimensional brown with golden tones. It looks rich and flattering without becoming too dark, and I have been very happy with how the color holds up between applications. Another thing I appreciate is that this is a permanent hair color, so I get lasting coverage rather than watching my gray immediately start showing through again after a few washes. My hair also looks shiny and healthy after coloring, which is important to me with any permanent color product. I’ve tried this enough times now to know that the results aren’t a one-time fluke. It’s become one of my dependable go-to hair colors, and I will continue purchasing it. Five stars from me—especially for the gray coverage, longevity, and beautiful warm 6G shade. ❤️

This has become my favorite hair color brand
This has become my favorite hair color. It covers my gray quite well, and the color is rich, kind of multidimensional color. It leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. I go and use other brands and then I come back to this time and time again. I definitely recommend giving it a try. My hair is more dry now that it's mostly gray but this hair color gives it life, body, and shine back.

GET IT!!
I used box stuff for years and my hair was getting brittle and I was having to recolor every 2 weeks because my gray hair was coming in fast. I knew I needed to switch brands but did not want to go to a salon because no one can afford that nowadays! I switched to this brand and I love it! My hair feels healthier and I only recolor every 4 weeks now! I use the dark red and the color is gorgeous! It stays the same color the whole time the only thing I redo are my roots! There really isn’t a smell which makes me sad I wish it smelled nice but that just makes me feel like it’s that much more healthy for my hair!

Good color, but drying
I wanted a terracotta color on the neutral to warm side, so went with the 7 RGN (red golden neutral blonde). I used level 20 developer from the same brand. My hair is naturally a level 6. I've dyed my hair plenty in the past, and that's been since grown out and cut off, so it was fully virgin hair at the time of coloring. My hair is thick and wavy with some curls, layered, about to my shoulder blades. The consistency is good and easy to apply using bowl and brush without splashing anywhere. I'm sensitive to fragrance and this didn't give me a headache. I applied and let sit for 30 minutes before rinsing and conditioning. It took 3 shampoos to get the water to run clear. I didn't buy enough for my length of hair, so some areas came out spotty, which was my own fault. I think it covered well given the application I did. The parts where I ran out are in the under layers, so not super visible anyway. I'll buy more next time. I have a white streak in my under layers, and it does seem to have worked on those. My white hair tends to be resistant to color if I'm only using a level 10. The level 20 worked out just right. The results were shocking at first. Way more dark than expected, and much closer to a burgundy or mahogany color, on the cool side. At first I was disappointed, but wanted to see how it would look after a few washes before reviewing. I shampoo every night, so within a few days my hair was looking the lighter, warmer color I expected, and I'm super happy with it. As for the condition it leaves my hair, well, it fried mine at first. My shiny soft waves and curls had turned to straight, dull, dry, frizzy straw, and I was sure I had ruined my hair. But after a few nights of deep conditioning, a round of olaplex, and the excess color slowly rinsing away, my hair texture has returned to it's former glory with only the slight amount of damage expected from using a level 20 developer. I'm not sure why people are saying it doesn't damage hair. I think the developer is responsible for damage. Maybe they're using a level 10 developer and getting no damage. Maybe what damage I experienced is from the level 20 developer and nothing to do with the hair color. I can't say for sure. You'll definitely want to have some good conditioner on hand directly after rinsing this in any case. I'll use it again, though I might go for level 8 next time. It's only been 11 days, so I'll update if anything notable happens.

Professional Results Without the Salon Price
If you’re looking for a professional-looking hair color without the salon price tag, this is hands-down one of the best store-bought options I’ve used. Just remember that the developer is sold separately. Once you factor in the cost of the color cream + developer, you’re paying roughly what you would for a box of Revlon or another boxed dye—but in my experience, this lasts longer, leaves my hair feeling more conditioned, and doesn’t fade nearly as quickly. A very important developer PSA: if you’re new to using professional color, don’t make the mistake I did! 😂 The developer volume matters. 10-volume generally deposits/darkens, 20-volume is the sweet spot for many standard color applications, while 30- and 40-volume developers are intended for more lift/lightening. I learned this the hard way when I couldn’t figure out why my medium brown color was mysteriously turning my gray roots blonde. 🤦♀️ Turns out, the developer was the culprit! So if you’re venturing into salon-style color at home: buy the color, buy the right developer, and save yourself the blonde surprise. Consider this a tip from me to you. 💜

My go-to hair color
I’m so glad I found this brand! I originally bought it at a professional beauty supply store, but then I discovered it on Amazon, which makes buying it so much easier. The color comes out exactly like the shade shown on the box, and it’s super easy to use. I mix it 1:1 with the developer, and it blends really easily. The color lasts a long time, and my hair stays soft and feels just like my natural hair after coloring. It also does a great job covering gray hair, which is really important to me. I’ve been happy with the results and will definitely keep buying this one!

9AA Double Ash will likely turn your light or medium blonde hair green
TL;DR - this color has a lot of green in it and is not meant for light or medium blondes. It's probably best for light brown or dark blonde hair with strong orange/red tones. I've used Age Beautiful permanent color before and liked it. This review is for the particular shade, not the color line itself. I am now transitioning to my natural gray, and my stylist previously performed a gray blending service. After a color remover and lightening service, the ends of my hair are somewhere between a Level 7 and Level 8 blonde. I regularly tone with a purple-blue conditioner to remove the yellow and orange tones and give it the ashy gray color that blends with my natural gray. I love the look, but it's a lot of maintenance. I don't always have 15 minutes to stand in the shower and let my tinted conditioner do its thing, so I was hoping to shortcut the process with the 9AA Double Ash. My stylist gave me a good refresher education on color theory and what colors cancel each other, and she told me that I could either maintain with a purple-blue product at home or come back to her for monthly toning services. I opted to try at-home maintenance, and over the past year I have learned a lot about gray color products. They are typically based on one of two base colors...purple (which counteracts yellow tones), and blue (which counteracts orange tones). If you choose a gray product with the wrong base color for the tones in your hair, then you are going to end up with a big hair color oops. Knowing this, I reached out to Age Beautiful's customer care to ask which base they used in the 9AA Ash Blonde. They responded that this color has a gray AND green base, and they didn't tell me if it was a purple gray or a blue gray. I know that a lot of ash colors have at least a little green in them, and it didn't matter to me if it was purple or blue-based gray since I have both yellow and orange tones. Instead of asking more questions as I should have, I thought I would try it. I applied it to my processed ends only, and while the color was developing, it looked like it was doing what I wanted. And it is definitely a blue-based gray. But once I rinsed and dried, the green tint showed up with a vengeance. This color was a lot greener than I was expecting, and because my hair is porous from previous services, it sucked it all up. Cue slight panic and immediate internet searching to find the appropriate, red-tinted product to now tone out the green without messing up my gray. Thank goodness for the advice that clarifying shampoo sometimes helps, and I immediately washed in my Olaplex 4C clarifying shampoo. It got a lot of the green out on the first wash because the hair cuticle had not closed yet, and I wore my hair up for a few days to hide my greenish ends before another round of clarifying shampoo. The green all came out by the second wash. In the end, the color did tone out the orange from my hair, so I couldn't be mad. But it did leave the yellow behind (expected), so I still had to follow-up with another purple toner again to address that. This shade didn't save me any time/maintenance or provide the amazing gray color shown by the manufacturer. But that's because this color wasn't right for my starting color, and I had to learn the hard way. The 9AA Double Ash Blonde shade really isn't for anyone in the light to medium blonde range. And that's a shame for those of us who lightened our hair specifically to color it gray and were hoping to avoid the constant upkeep. If you really want to understand your current hair color tones and what tones will work with your hair to give you the look you want, I love Ugly Duckling's Hair Color Levels and Undertones and Neutralizing Colors charts. According to them, the blue/green combo in this color is likely best for light brown or dark blonde hair with strong orange tones. If you are lighter than that or do not have orange/red tones in your hair, your hair will likely turn green with this shade.

No developer- what a useless product!
Why sell something that you can’t use whithout the other bit! Who sells developer separate to hair color! Seriously. Talk about making life difficult ….

Age Beautiful Hair Dye
Ive been dying my hair for 30 years noth at home/salon. The older you get the harder it is to cover grey hair + the frequency gets shorter + shorter between dyes. Discovering Age Beautiful Hair Dye has been fantastic. OMG!! Permanent Hair Colour that stays its rich deep colour + doesnt wash out down the drain. doesn't start to fade after 1 week + lasts (me - might be different for ea user) 4-5 weeks depending on how much regrowth you are ok with. I have mid-long hair + got x3 "dyes" from 2 tubes. just ordered 3 more tunes. THE BEST DIY Hair Dye EVER. Thank You xx
