Stud - Stainless

I bought this for my Gerber “alligator grip“ folder. It’s on and working very well! Two tips to mention: 1. Be sure to locate the tiny black Allen screw that, at least in my case, was not set in the stud when the package arrived. It’s easy enough to set it in the stud with the help of the included Allen wrench. But it may take you five extra minutes if it falls between the sofa cushions and you have to look for it. 2. I repositioned the stud on the back of the blade three or four times before I found the sweet spot that offered the best leverage and least resistance.. Be sure to experiment a bit with placement before you lock it down tight.

You know how so often you will buy a product that seems like it should be an easy install, but it turns out to be a bear? Not this one! I wanted to put a thumb stud on my Ka-bar Buck 110 clone so I ordered this. Delivered like lightning in the mail, I opened up the envelope, saw there was an allen key included, shook out the contents of the envelope, and had the install complete in 15 seconds. I did have to adjust the location to fit my preferences, but the entire install took less than a minute. It works perfectly, and I think it looks pretty sharp; just what I needed! And at a fantastic price, as well. Now I will actually be able to use this knife that has been gathering dust for years. Nice when a product works out so perfectly!

I received a Benchmade Mini-Taggedout knife as a gift, but I had trouble using the slit on the top of the blade to open it, so I installed a brass Kwik Thumb Stud. Well, the knife looks garish enough with its orange handles, and the brass thumb stud made it look like a Mardi Gras throw, so I ordered a stainless steel Kwik thumb stud and installed that on the Benchmade. Then I installed the brass one on a 40+ year-old Gerber LST knife that was my workplace EDC back in the day. Now I can open the LST with one hand! It was easy to install both studs, and the studs stay put. Opening the knives now is so much easier. BTW, just for fun, I tried slipping the brass stud through the slit of the Benchmade blade and installing it upside-down. It fit that way, too, but I didn't like the aesthetics of it as much.

I like the concept but it didn't work for my knife. My particular knife is extra thick on top so this device didnt fit. I then hoped it would fit in the thumb hole but it was too big.

I ran into this by mistake and glad I did! I have an older Bucklite 426V and rarely carried it because I have become so accustomed to quick release knives or at the minimum already had a thumb stud from the factory. This item works great and because its adjustable it allows the user to place it wherever works best on the blade for them. This is fantastic because we all have different size hands and the thumb stud may work (at one location) for some and those with bigger hands would like it farther down the blade. I experimented for the best location to find that “sweet” spot I was comfortable with. I also put some semi permanent thread lock on the screw to avoid it working itself free! Definitely worth the paltry price!

Well made, easy installation, stays put. CAUTION: mine is on a Buck 112. I have to be careful not to let my fingers get into the path of the sharp cutting edge. One little slip could cut deeply and the Buck's spring is strong. Practice with care. Also: casing (wet forming) the knife pouch made for a perfect fit with the stud on.

Ok so let's start with the obvious ..... it's ugly .... like 3am beer goggles ugly. That being said I can't take it off my 112 because is works too damn good. I love my Buck and this is the perfect answer to that pesky little two hand problem. It hasn't loosened up at all and I use this knife a lot. At the price they are asking it's an absolute no brainer so GET ONE!! If you really can't stand the way it looks then so be it and take the few dollar lose and throw it back in your drawer but I promise you won't regret it.

I put this on a Buck 110 and the knife doesn't open well. However, I'm sure it's because of the design of the knife not the stud. The stud seems to be holding very tightly to the blade. My complaint is that even though the he key is shown in the photo I did not have one included in my packaging. Had to dig through the garage to find one that fits. I also can't seem to take the stud off to put on a different knife.

I am impressed with how well this works, how easy it is to adjust and install and how well It blends in. Very good product, I may buy an other.

Ottimo thumbstud. Si adatta bene anche a coltelli con spessore lama inferiore rispetto ai Buck classici. Materiali e qualità costruttiva ottimi.

Para agregar a un cuchillo Buck que tengo fue excelente el Tumb Stud, es muy fácil de instalar y de muy buena calidad. No se arrepentiran al comprarlo.
