Tuxing 4500 compressor
My first large PCP compression. Quiet and fast. No problems in any way

Good start.
I have used this compressor a half dozen times. So far 5 stars. Set-up: I purchased good quality synthetic compressor oil from Amazon. I'm using this compressor for my hpa-pcp air guns. After making sure the water pump and oil were at recommend capacity, water pump working. I installed an air pass through on the fill hose, and opened the bleed screw. I want as little pressure resistant as possible while breaking-in the air compressor. I ran the compressor for 5 minutes on a timer. I let the engine cool completely down. Then I ran the compressor again for another 5 minutes. Let the compressor cool. Then I ran the compressor for 10 minutes straight, with little resistance as possible. Then I changed the oil. I was shocked to see how dirty the oil was. I was so glad I broke-in the motor my method. There is no filter so I recommend changing the oil a few times in the first few hours of use, in My opinion. Step-2 After first oil change. I used the compressor, filled my pcp a few times, 3000psi, and a .5L small air cylinder. Max pressure on the cylinder was about 3500psi. The cylinder is rated for 4500psi. I did not want to work the motor hard, meaning pushing very high air pressure, until I had used it a few times. Step-3 Pressure test, added a plug in the fill hose and set the pressure shutoff to 4000psi. In short order the 4000psi was reached and the compressor automatically turned off as it was supposed to. I let the pressure sit for 2 full minutes, no leaks. Step-4. I purchased breathing air quality oil from Amazon. I will not be using this compressor for breathing air. But in my opinion, using better oil, is better for my pcp's. Better products in means better air quality out and if that makes my air gun seals last longer and work at factory specifications longer I'm a happy guy. I will be adding intake air drying cartridge and a timer to see how many hours I use the compressor between maintenence. One flaw most compressor manufacturers do is not add an air dryer on the compressor's air intake. The air we breathe has moisture in it, when you compress the air you adding that moisture into the air reservoir of the pcp. Adding a dryer cartridge on the intake is an inexpensive way to greatly improve the air quality that the compressor produces. Negatives: Being picky, I expected it to be loud and vibrate, it vibrates a lot. I have it on top of my work bench and if I don't hold it, it could vibrate to the point that the compressor would fall off the bench. This amount of vibration could be detrimental to longevity. I will be looking into small wheels with air to help absorb some of the vibration and make it easier to move it 40+ pounds. An accessory air dryer on the intake would be great. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this unit, it pushes a lot of air, mine doesn't leak and it turns off when it should. I keep watching the pressure gauge because of safety and I don't want my pcp's damaged. I don't have a lot of use yet, durability unknown but the start is promising. My 2 cents. Works, instructions a little short on details
This is used for supplying air to PCP airguns. It does NOT have auto-shutoff, being the bottom model in the line, so requires constant monitoring of the pressure gauge. Once you get up around 300 bar, you have to shut it down quick or the burst disk pops. It is water-cooled. The method is to use a user supplied water container, drop a pump in with inlet-outlet hoses and run the water through both cylinders. A small bucket works. The chosen pump is a fully submersible one like is used for small table-top fountains and the like. Cheap. Out of the box, mine didn't work, motor was seized solid. Works are potted in epoxy, probably the armature as well in this one. I ordered one with a similar size from Amazon, it works. They run directly from 120V, no wall box, all connections are potted. Sling it in the bottom of the bucket, suction cups hold it there. The compressor is shipped directly from China, took several weeks. Weight is around 60 lbs, so not exactly a sling it around portable. Box is very heavy, bits are well packed inside. Still had some scars and tears outside from its travels, innards were in good shape. Did not want to mess around getting some kind of response from the vendor for the dead pump, got a spare in 2 days from Amazon and it worked. The compressor has a 2 prong always-on outlet for the pump on the shroud next to the compressor on-off rocker switch. Compressor is different from the cheapies, has low pressure and high pressure cylinders in a V, the direct-fill cheapies have low pressure below the high pressure pressure cylinder, both pistons on the same conn rod. Plus water-cooling means this one can fill the larger bottles. I think this is the cheapest water-cooled compressor. Seems to be well made, the same innards seem to be used for the next higher models of compressor. Top one has auto-shutoff and auto bleed. Plus a fancier mount. Ebay seems to have just about any spares needed for a Tuxing compressor, they also have an online store. Pressure gauge on the compressor is liquid filled, compressor vibrates a bunch, so needed. Below that is the burst disk and below that is the outlet hose. Bottom of the block has the bleed screw and it bleeds through the brass burst disk bolt. Included are outlet hose, a set of gaskets and spare burst disks. Amazon also has Tuxing burst disks, slightly smaller than the other makes. I managed to pop one on the first pressure test, a QD plug for the outlet hose is included. Ran past 300 bar in a matter of seconds. I then blew another one pumping up the 6.8L tank I bought. Took about 45 minutes to get to 200 bar, then about 1/2 hour from 200-300 bar the next day. Disk went when it just got a bit above 300 bar. Head temperature was getting to 180 F when I turned it off at 200 bar. I now have more spare disks. When pumping directly, the Diana Bandit took a matter of seconds to reach 200 bar, its max. The Air Venturi Avenger was more like 6-7 minutes to get to 300 bar from about 150. Head temp barely moved for either. Very nice using the tank to refill the Avenger, have done 5-6 refills, needle on the tank is barely off the top mark. You will need to buy some oil before using, they specified regular car oil. I used Mobil 1. A matter of ounces to get it to the desired level, there's an eye on the side of the crankcase with a red dot. Use a spout or funnel to avoid a mess. Keep a rag handy, there's some oil mist that gets on the crankcase from the crankcase vent plug. Main complaint besides the dead cooling pump is no info on how to change the head thermometer's battery. Mine gives all the signs of being about dead. There doesn't seem to be any way to pop the module out of the motor shroud to find a battery cover. The instructions are pretty complete as to setting it up, do NOT ignore the section about putting oil in. If you can get the next model up with auto-shutoff for desired pressure, might save some popped disks. Very loud when one goes.

I bought this model because tuxing was sold out of the models with more options. I ended up upgrading it myself. Used a better water pump and a aluminum rad and fan, also added a 300 bar moisture trap and will also be adding a water tank to add more coolant for cooling. I have filled a 9L bottle 4 times with very little moisture in the trap. Buy royal purple synthetic compressor oil, it is better at high temps then the regular hydraulic oil suggested. Some people have had issues with seals but this is all fixable with the spare parts and their support is quick and good. Used for pcp air rifle. Pic added of my custom build

I purchased this model a few years ago, with a view to return to some shallow water dives, 10-30 mts, I used it today and filled one 12 litre bottle, to 300 bar and two 7 litre emergency stand by bottles, it ran for easily one and a half hour's, filled the required pressure and still only felt slightly warm to the touch,, I used a mix of coolant and distilled water, first class compressor, teething problems were a few leaks, but easily sorted good communication from tuxing ,🤗

After a long struggle, we made it. Both Tuxing and I made good on the possibility of working together to create the greater good. Today, I completed the wiring and accessories, then started up the compressor. Next, I ran the compressor five minutes to see if it would run. Run it did. Next, I connected a 100 cu. in. tank and filled from 2,000 psi to 4,000 psi. No problems. It feels good to finally have a working compressor. I do realize that it is a long distance between us, yet that can be overcome.
