Do these mushrooms contain sulfur dioxide and or sulfite?

Either sulfur dioxide or sulfite is a preservative.  I also need the information to decide if I should purchase it. So I searched all over the photos of the package posted, but it does not even indicate the ingredient(s), where you usually find if the product  uses anything as a preservative. So without the information, I am reluctant to purchase it. Wish the distributor could clarify this up for its customers.

Question 2

Looking for wood ears for soups and stir fry.  Local store stopped carrying them.  Do these keep 'crunchy' texture? I've heard some brands do not.

Hi Clarrisa ... wood ear is a dry fungus and it is hard to find ... I bought some thru Amazon over internet with no problem, but when I took out a very small packet and put it to soak, which you need to do to use it, it blossomed out about ten to one the original dry size ... it's not useable in its dry state ... when hydrated by soaking in water for a few minutes and is ready for cooking, it's usually sliced into thin strips ... and it has almost no taste but it does add texture to the hot and sour soup I make at home ... I find it also used in soups from Chinese restaurants ... hopes this helps ... GC

My recipe calls for 4 tablespoons dried.  How can I measure that when they ar in "little bricks?"   Thanks.

Four tablespoons dried tree ear is about the total volume of each of the "little bricks". This will expand in warm water to well over two cups.
