Are these porcini from Italy?

Italy’s porcini are sold fresh due to small harvests. Our dried porcini come from nearby Balkan forests, where the climate and soil are the same & then meticulously processed in Italy, ensuring exceptional quality and taste.

Are these mushrooms from China?

No. Urbani never sources porcini from China. Our porcini are harvested only in Europe (Serbia, Macedonia, and nearby Balkan regions).

Why does the label mention warnings?

Wild mushrooms naturally absorb trace elements from the forest soil. The warning label is required by EU rules for consumer transparency. It does not mean pesticides or chemicals were used—these are wild, natural mushrooms.

How do I prepare them?

Soak in warm water 15–20 minutes. For an extra-clean result, soak in lightly salted water and rinse before cooking.
