velona 5 lb - Ultra Clear Glycerin Soap Base, Melt & Pour, Transparent

This was on my radar forever, but after trying a different brand that looks identical beyond the name, I was nervous about diving in. -And now.. I'm mad at myself for waiting so long!! I freaking LOVE this stuff!! The clarity is great, it's easy to melt & has a phenomenal work time. (Nice and long, so you're not constantly reheating & risking burning or overcooking your soap.) It doesn't seem to sweat, cuts beautifully, & is just a dream to work with. ^_^ Plus, after noticing my former favorite was shorting us a whole POUND of base (which is why I finally gave this a go- I needed a new affordable clear base), I took a moment to weigh my 2nd, most recent batch of this... And I'm DELIGHTED to report that I actually got the full 5lbs of base. XD (A little over in fact! With wrapper still on it was 5.5! 🩵) Unfortunately the price has gone up a bit recently, so it's not quite as great a value as it was previously, but I'm definitely still gonna keep buying and using it, bc it's great quality, we're still actually getting what we're paying for (and not being shorted), it's the best value I can find, & even with the elevated price, it's still less costly than Primal Elements (the brand that I was using before, that's cheating folks a lb of soap). So 5 of 5 stars! Would definitely recommend! 💙

Started out making soap not too long ago and used a few other soap base products. None of them can match the quality of this soap base. It's easy to use, as soap bases should be, and very clear just as advertised as long as you don't use too much mica powder. Otherwise, it has a very vague, pleasant scent that can easily fade away with the use of fragrance and essential oils. The ingredients list is much smaller than the other bases I've used, which were cheaper and much less pleasant alternatives. To me, smaller is better and easier to explain. All I have to add to the labels are the essential oils I'm using as well as the herbs, if any. Packaging was very simple, in a resealable bag so you can save the rest for another time. There was no shortage of the soap base that was packaged and came in 5 lbs as advertised, the even go as far and cutting that one sliver of soap to make sure the measurement is right. Something that would be very easy for a company to skimp on just to save a couple bucks. After using the finishing product, your skin is left feeling clean without feeling dried out. It handles coloring well, doesn't interfere with the smell, simple to use and therefore I give it a 5 star rating. I will definitely be using this as my main soap base for a while.

This Verona soap base is wonderful! It’s soft, easy to cut, and has a nice creamy lather. I highly recommend this base, and the Shea Butter base. It takes beautifully to fragrances, additives, and creative wonders!

This glycerin soap base is very clear and easy to melt. It works perfectly for my handmade soaps and blends well with essential oils and colors. The quality is great, and the final bars look beautiful and professional. I will definitely buy it again!

This is my second purchase of this soap base (5 lbs). It is really easy to use; melts with no residue; does not bubble in the molds if poured slowly; makes perfect imprints once firm; does not have a scent that would interfere with my essential oils; and does not alter the colors I add to the designs. I often layer different colors in the same soap; it looks wonderful and very unique. Dried flowers can also be added for an extra touch and look fabulous in the translucent glycerin base. I also use this natural base for projects with children; they love making mini soaps that they are very proud of and can share with their friends. A great buy!

I order this soap every 6 months or so, and have loved it so far. But it has changed for the worse since my last order. You can tell it's much more yellow in my side-by-side comparison picture. (Left is the new batch, right is the prev batch) Also the ingredients list has changed. Coconut oil is now 5th in the list instead of being 1st. Edit: The company reached out to me and offered me a refund, which I think is a nice gesture. I'm going to try ordering one more time.

This is my first time trying this product and I am very happy with what I received! It was easy to cut through and to melt. There is a slight "soap" scent but it doesn't smell bad. It was easy to add my own scents with essential oils and other organic ingredients. I love that it is completely clear, which gives you many options when making soap! I did an orange zest blend and it looks really cool in the light (2nd photo). It cures really well and also has directions on the packaging. Once cured I was able to wrap the soap bars in plastic wrap and it held its shape well. And lastly, I really appreciate the soap base is allergen free so that I can safely gift or use myself.

I am new to soap making so take my review with a grain of salt, since I have only used the ones that came with a kit (which were awful by the way). - This soap base melts quickly & evenly, warm in shorter bursts & check it often if using a microwave. - It does have a very subtle smell to it, which was apparent when I tested the completed product. (that may have been my error- again I am a newbie) - I was happy with the skin conditioning quality of the soap. Overall, I think I found my go-to for glycerin soap as long as I can get a better scent throw (It may have been my fragrance oil that failed)
