Bonifanti Italian Panettone Classico | Traditional Italian Christmas Cake 1.65lb (750 gr) - Pack of 2

I have been a consumer of panettone for more than 60 years. I even had the good fortune to be able to try many different varieties while we were living in Tuscany for almost two years. That said, the Panettone Bonifanti Classico genuinely deserves its name “Classico.” It is one of the most authentic that I have ever tasted, and as fresh as one could buy from the best "panificio" in Italy. It is perfectly leavened with just the right amount of airy spaces, and has the quintessential texture that allows one to pull or gently tear pieces apart. No gumminess nor crumbiness here. The ratio of raisins and candied fruit is also spot-on authentic. If you have never tried panettone, this one would be at the top of the quality ladder, except perhaps for one made by your own Nonna in her kitchen! If you’re wondering about the price, I can only say that it’s worth every cent. One simply cannot compare the Bonifanti with the cheap knock-off panettone you will find at shops stateside, like TJ’s, WholeFoods, etc. Yes, those too are “made in Italy.” However, the Italians view them with disdain for good reason, and call them "industriale"—made in huge automated factories like loaves of plain white sandwich bread with a taste and texture to match. It’s like comparing a loaf of Wonder Bread with a hand-crafted artisanal loaf. So, go ahead and splurge. Panettone can also be frozen, best done in a storage-type freezer (not self-defrosting) where the freezing temperature is constant. I have frozen them for as long as 6 months to enjoy in the Summer with iced tea.

This is the nicest panetone! Super moist with an amazing aroma and lovely texture. Way better than anything in your supermarket or other brands

No as good as some of the more expensive varieties, but the taste was very good and its moist. Would buy again. Some of the fruit was a little bit hard.

The Bonifanti panettone is excellent, I have ordered this many times, for my self and others, and they all rave about it's taste, texture, freshness, and the balance of fruits and nuts. I will order again and again. Some of the recipients of my gifts are Italians in the U.S. and they rave about it as well.

This bread is indescribably wonderful. It is delicious plain, toasted, French toast. Love, love, love

Product was excellent (as always), but arrived in less than perfect condition (box beat up).

Even at this price the cake is well worth it. Light and creamy cake with nuts and dried fruit. Traditional Italian cake Bought for Christmas gifts and were a huge hit.
