Works well for watering
These work well for watering. I have these throughout our yard for various bushes and trees that are not drought tolerant. It allows the water to get to the root area without offering insects direct access to the roots. The caps allow water to come through without all the debris also. Easy to install with a rubber mallet. They are adequate size for plants, small trees and shrubs. I would not use these for large trees.

Gets water down to the roots!
I purchased these for a large potted tree. I thought they would be heavier and would hold water. I was going to use them while out of town for a few days. They do not hold water, but they DO get the water down to the roots of the plants when you are watering. My plant is thriving. I soak around the entire base of the plant and water into the tree stakes until they are overflowing. If you are going to use these for a tree planted in the ground, I might suggest getting the larger ones.

HEAVY DUTY, WONDERFUL PRODUCT, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Ordered 18 of these watering spikes for some very young trees and some large climbing roses that are still establishing and am very pleased. These stakes are so tough I think they will outlive me! Trees are getting more water and are looking better already. Excellent customer contact and service, too!

Ok but not sure they do much
These are very heavy duty, and easy to install. Just need a rubber mallet or soft soil and a heavy foot. With that said, they don’t hold a lot of water so I’m still not sure they really really do much. But they are, they say they are

Better for lawns and puddle control
Not so great for trees, but did wonderful in grass yard to eliminate puddles and to allow better absorption to grass roots in areas with harder soil.

Sturdy
I have ordered these twice, and will probably order more. They work great in our rocky soil to get water into the root zone.

Good quality
These are my favorite watering stakes. I use them in my larger pots and they make watering very easy. I could see using these with transplants, as well, and will likely try that soon.

Not very useful
They fill up with dirt quickly and become useless. Manual also requires rubber hammer (not included).
