Too Fragile - do NOT buy this!
This mug is VERY thin and fragile... more like a double walled wine glass! Of course it's double walled... this thing is too thin to keep any beverage hot! One bump and it will shatter. I'd be surprised if this lasts more than a month. It weighs a mere 234 grams! I wanted a coffee mug, not a tea cup.I have a nice sturdy mug that is 563 gms, designed for durability and comfort. I thought it would be nice to try a double walled mug, but this was a complete waste of money. I feel 'had'. The handle is NOT ergonomically designed, can barely fit four fingers through the handle, and it's uncomfortable to hold. This mug is thin, fragile, and guaranteed to break easily. This mug was not designed for durability and is grossly overpriced! With shipping and taxes this cost me $20. I purchased this directly from Aeropress, but they don't offer the opportunity to share reviews on their website. Do not buy this!The prices for all double walled mugs is ridiculous. A single walled mug with thicker glass keeps coffee hot and won't break. You can use an Aeropress on any sturdy mug, and if unsure, use the JavaJug. Go into a high end kitchen store and treat yourself to the nicest mug you find, but skip this is overpriced piece of junk. This was a cringe-worthy purchase. I'd really like my money back.I see many reviews with similar comments for another double walled mug. I suspect that the Javiere is too new to the market to have many reviews yet, but over time, the same comments will be made. Buyer beware!!
