Good for HTPC systems, pity no DP connector
I am replacing a failed MSI (1030 passive) card with EVGA as MSI only do RMA through the vendor and AZ does not do RMA - just refund. Usually that is great (buy something else cheaper) - but with graphics cards some prices have increased 50% or more which is not so great. EVGA does do RMA direct and has very active forums.Back to the card - as it's passive IMHO this is meant for HTPC use where the built-in HEVC decoders (obviously Main10 profile is supported) makes playback great. HDMI port is version 2.0 thus 4K 60Hz works great with HDR as well. Only pity is lack of DisplayPort (which MSI card did have) - EVGA has opted for the old DVI connector. It also includes low profile bracket which is easy to change (unlike MSI which had a screw underneath cooler which had a warranty-void sticker on it!). You can also remove heatsink and repaste - AFAIK this does not void warranty. Also to confirm this is the GDDR5 version not the low performance DDR4 version. I did not stress it much but it passed all GPGPU / CUDA tests - temperature was OK for short tests but longer ones may cause throttling unless you have really good airflow through the case. The UEFI firmware of the BIOS was not the latest for "Pascal" thus you should upgrade it either via nVidia's tool or 3rd party, for me this has improved monitor detection on boot. Could be the monitor (LG) but anyway it's sorted. You can also power-modify the BIOS which naturally is locked on 30W but being already over-clocked and passive leaves little headroom for overclocking.Overall I would have preferred a DisplayPort not DVI but EVGA's support makes up for it.

Good GPU for med tier projects
Good GPU, not the best for gaming but good enough for a medium build. Can do Mac settings on cs:go no problem and overwatch as well.Only gripe I had with it is when I tried to fit it into my sff case which meant I had to exchange the io bracket on the GPU to a smaller one(included) the problem is that the fan and overall cover plate blocks the one screw needed to remove the plate. It's do-able to remove the screw but when you have to replace it you have to remove the cover plate and fan to be able to screw the back plate in place. I just left the screw as it doesnt really affect the overall structure and I didn't want to remove the fan and cover plate as I'd have to apply thermal paste when putting everything back together.

Quite strong for the little tyke
Before, I had an R5 230 which is 2GB of DDR3 (not even GDDR). It's clock speed wasn't even 1000MHz in anything. It had no Display I/O, it was basically a sound card for video. But, I saw EVGA's Superclocked Edition of the decent GT 1030. I wasn't expecting 1080p120fps, but it certainly reaches 1080p90fps in medium settings for most games. This GT 1030 can be overclocked to get even more out of it, this card isn't even designed for gaming, it's supposed to be for HTPCs and Blu-Ray 4K. I was surprised to see that I reached out to 60fps gaming on this low end GPU.If you don't plan on heavy gaming, this item makes a very good compromise for playing cinematically at around 40fps in 1080p on high settings. If you do want to sweat, get a GTX 1050 or wait for Geforce 11.

Beware non pci e connector
This proved to be a wAste of time since it has a job standard pcie connector, it is too small and the contacts are much closer together. Also no "boot" at the rear. It looks like maybe designed for laptop except it would be too thick. No idea what it is for but no good to me so I returned it and bought another model.

Five Stars
Great little card that can play most modern games on high settings.

Expensive for a GT 1030
Expensive for a GT 1030 as you can find others for around £80 but out of the limited passively cooled models this was easily the best looking

Does whats it says on the tin
Right. This gpu isnt advertised as the best gaming gpu. Its for people who have small form factor pc's (sff) who cant fit normal sized gpus in the case. This basically give 2x the graphic power of an i5 cpu build in graphics
