but it is just as fun watching the main cast of both games interact with ...
Cast: If you are a Persona fan, do not pass this game up. There is no calender or social decisions that have impact on the story/relationships, but it is just as fun watching the main cast of both games interact with each other! I always felt that Persona 3's cast didn't get a lot of character development and it was nice to see them connect with each other and form bonds with Persona 4's outgoing cast. Zen and Rei were cute characters too! Dungeons: The dungeon crawling, map drawing, and puzzles were fun as well. There are 5 and each is unique in it's own way. HOWEVER, I recommend breaks between each floor or complete Elizabeth's quests just so it doesn't get tiring. The game easily hits 100+ hours. TONS of Customization: The fusion system in Persona Q might be my favorite system in the Persona series. I've played tons of SMT games and have certain demons/personas that I love to create and use. Most of the time I only end up using my favs for a short period before I or the enemies out level them making them obsolete. With the sacrificial system you can add tons of exp to a persona so that you can keep them for as long as you want. I loved Orpheus Telos so much that I kept him the whole game (level 26 to 99)! With the Healing Harp skill, I freed up the need for healing/status cure skills and was able to focus on many other cool skills or magic. Leveling up personas in this game does not make the stats increase. It only increases the HP & SP they give to the character they are equipped to. Each character (MC included) has their main persona, but is able to equip one other persona. It gives each character tons of skills to access per turn. No member in your party will ever be useless in any turn (i.e. Yukiko & Yukari are only good for healing and using their element). The boost system in Persona Q is by far more OP than just simple all out attack in the other games. It also helps your team sustain in dungeons. They are long, sometimes hard, and can even drain your HP/SP significantly in just one enemy encounter. Accessories and skill cards allow you to further customize characters. There are only 2 things you cannot customize in this game lol. The Extras: The CD & case were ok. I liked the art book and the cards.

tl;dr By now if your a persona fan
Persona? Persona! *one click buy* Yea that's been my life the pass few years. But hey it's worth the time and money. So the wild card edition. The cards are cool, the music cd just has a few tracks on it, the case is nice(a little pocket for your headphones) and the art book just has the characters in it, despite the really cool Labyrinths you get to run around in. Basically it's for bragging rights. (haha i'm cooler then you because I have a disposable income.) The game? Fantastic! Right off you get some pretty funny character interactions while your thrown in right in the story. Characters feel familiar almost all of them are voiced by there original actors. After some story set up you set off into your first labyrinth. Each one is themed and feels very different, having their own quarks, puzzles and atmosphere. Combat is turned base, who moves first is determined by stats, all out attack makes a return along with weaknesses. Whats really different here is your secondary persona. After each battle your secondary personas hp and sp will refill it's health acting like a sheild and sp giving you some wiggle room at the beginning of each fight even though your characters main persona is fresh out letting you get off a spell or two. Physical attacks now do elemental damage instead of just there slash, bash and pierce. To break up the Monotony of dungeon grinding the social element is here to entertain you with awesome character interactions. In between each dungeon floor you can go on a 'stroll' and see whats going on with your teammates. Usually ranges between 2 or 3 situations you can read threw. Funny, informative or insightful and always fun to do. there is much much more to this game. I could write more but i think i hit the major points. Must by for persona fans

Take a leap of faith, it is worth it.
Honestly, I wasn't even going to get this game; but when Atlus said that its story was cannon...then I just had to buy it in hopes that there will be some easter eggs for P4A and P5. I had my expectations low for this game as well. Haven't played any game with this kind of dungeon crawling, so I was going in blind. The "chibi" art style was also something new, since, if you played other persona games, this was change was pretty big. Getting the common stuff out of the way, here is the real deal. General...This game was better than I thought. The dungeon crawling is nicely paced, the story is pretty good (despite it having a few generic elements), the art isn't much of a problem, the music is amazing, and the gameplay is just like an old school Persona game. This being a Persona game, you would already expect the story, music, and voice acting to be good, so rest assured that it is true with this title. Specific... The art is a bit tricky to tell others about, since the "chibi" art style is an "acquired affinity". Meaning that not everyone will like it. So, I will leave that to the player. Same goes for gameplay as well, but there is one thing that old Persona fans might like out of it...it is incredibly hard. This is a game that will make you think of strategies and force to leave the dungeon just because you don't have any more items. I would say that it is very old school RPG when it comes to its game mechanics. The bloated cast makes it hard to create a part too. Limited to only 4 characters + the protagonist that you choose at the beginning (cannot be removed from party), the choice is hard. You will be forced to choose between a party of you favorites or an effective party. Not to mention that only you party and navigators get exp, so everyone else gets the short stick. The music, although really good, gets repetitive in the dungeon crawl; but those boss battles at the end of every dungeon make up for that. The story is good. Not great, not bad, just good. It doesn't matter which protagonists you start out with, the story will still be great. The P3 perspective does have a bit more comedy at the start though. All in all it is a great game. It is a new take on the Persona series, and worth every penny I spent. The gameplay is a bit harder than I would like it to be though.

I'm really only going to review the product as a whole. Reviewing the game is a bit more subjective, but I can honestly say it's a very fun and challenging game that melds both the Persona 3 and 4 worlds quite well. As the top tier collector's edition for PersonaQ Shadow of the Labyrinth (there was another limited edition that just included the soundtrack and tarot cards I believe), it's well worth the money if you're a fan of the Persona series. Especially for the reduced price it had been going for here on Amazon. -The case is nothing special other than a nicely constructed and firm case with images of the cast as well as screenprints of characters within it. -The soundtrack is really more of a sampler of the music. It would be my main disappointment given how good the music is in this game. It would have been nice to have gotten a full soundtrack for the full price people paid. -A mini artbook introducing you to all the main characters in the game. Nothing major but a nice addition to the package. This is embossed and coated with silicone as well giving it a nice texture. -A set of tarot cards with the creatures featured in the game. These are are actual sized cards not playing card sized and are of good paper stock. All of this is housed in a sturdy box with the game of course. The box itself has some nice embossing and coated with some kind of silicone texture that gives it a nice feel. Overall a really nice addition to any Persona collector and fan.

Collector's Edition Brings From 3 to 4 Stars
The base game can be purchased for about 25$ new, I was able to get the collector's edition for about 15$ more, which is an absolute steal to me. It does stink that the CD only has 5 songs and the art book is also is little on the slim side. The tarot cards are kind of 'meh', but the 3ds case works great with my 3dsXL. All in all I am happy with the purchase. Now, onto the game! I put off playing this game for a long while because I was sure I would hate the Etrian Saga play style. It absolutely takes some getting used to, but on the whole, it is not bad at all. There is an option to automatically draw in the boundaries on the map as you walk around. You still need to put in where there are doors, secret passages, and any spots of interest - so that helps cutting down on the drawing if that is not your thing. You get the choice of playing through the game as either Persona 4 protagonist or Persona 3 - I picked 4 first. Either way you end up trapped in the high school and have to figure out how to escape. Your only option is to explore the dungeon hoping to find some clues. The story so far is pretty straight forward, granted I am only about 6 hours into the game. It's great to see all the familiar faces again. The only bad thing is that there is no social links. One of the biggest things in persona 3 and 4 and there are none to be had. You occasionally get dialog choices, but very rarely does that make much of a difference in your parties responses. You get quite a few difficulty options: risky, hard, normal, easy, and safety. Risky makes it so if your main protagonist dies, it is game over. Safety makes it so if you party wipes, you automatically get a fully revived party and the fight continues. The other difficulties fall in between with slight changes in damage input and output ratios. I started the game on Normal since I was familiar with Persona and RPGs in general – gotta grind that EXP! Well I got careless on a fight and died, my own fault no big deal. Got a little further and reached a spot where if you investigate the character says “I’m not sure what will happen if you keep checking” – paraphrased – you then get ambushed by five fairly hard shadows. This was on level 1 of the dungeon so obviously I was not equipped to deal with such a fight so ESCAPE was my only option, except I could not run away from the fight….I had to sit there and watch my team die, game over, and lose about an hour of progress. Way fun. Lowered the difficulty to Easy and was having a much better experience for some time. Got to level 3 of the Alice dungeon and there is a spot where you have to wash certain red roses to get the FOEs to move and you can slip by, if you do it wrong you get trapped and you have to leave by the clock shortcut and walk ALL THE WAY AROUND and back to where you were. I wasted about 30 minutes trying to trial and error how to get passed it (mixed with random encounters walking back). Finally I decided I would just drop the difficulty down to Safety and see how hard it would be just to KILL the FOE . I was able to get the enemy to about half health before my party wiped. After they revived I finally killed him. I can see why the game warns you not to mess with the buggers. Enemy weaknesses are still present in the game. However, unlike past games, when you use a proper magic to down an enemy you don’t do an ALL OUT ATTACK you will get a skill boost and the next turn your SP won’t be used when you use an attack. All out attack does happen randomly, but I am not sure what triggers it. Additionally, fight priority is also random. In previous games, if you attack the shadow before he reaches you, you would get first attack. Now that encounters are based on steps taken, you have no idea when the attack will occur. So sometimes you might get first attack and other times the enemy does. You get EXP and items just like previous games, but no money. Any money you make is from selling the parts you find in the dungeon. You unlock new weapons, accessories, and armor like with the vendor in P4 as you sell more stuff. It never seems like there is enough money to go around. Obviously buying gear and items takes a fair bit of money, but the biggest money sink is being healed by Margaret. Each time you have her heal your party you pay her money. The amount is based on the main character's level X $100. So if you are level 15 it costs $1,500.00. I am currently at 1000$ per heal right now. Doesn’t seem very fair when the only way you can get your SP back is from Margaret. Maybe there are SP recovery items later, but so far I have encountered none. Overall, this is a pretty decent game. There are a few aspects that don’t seem very fair to the player, but it is great to see all the old characters again. If you are not sure you would enjoy the story of Persona Q, read the manga first. That’s what convinced me to finally give this game a chance.

Great game, mediocre bonuses
The game: Phenominal. I waited to review it until beating the game once, and as a fan of Persona 3 and 4(but not Etrian Odyssey), it was definitely worth it. The game took about 60 hours to beat once, and there is a new game+ that lets you carry over levels, your compendium, money, and items. It's definitely a fanservice game. There is a plot, but the main draw is seeing the P3 and P4 casts interact outside of Arena. That said, I did enjoy the main plot. The main theme is as unsubtle as usual for a persona game, but it managed to tug on my heartstrings anyway. The game mechanics are a blend of Persona and EO, as expected. I've never played EO, so all of those mechanics were new to me. The battle system draws heavily on Persona mechanics, but you get boosts(let you attack first next turn with 0 HP/SP costs) instead of One Mores for hitting weaknesses. All the characters have access to subpersonas and four skill card slots, but have their core skills and stats depend on their main persona. It works well, allowing for customization while keeping characters distinct, and I'd enjoy seeing the system return in future Persona games. Certain moves and statuses are very overpowered, and I'd expect to see that fixed if we ever had another persona+EO game. As for the labyrinths: I enjoyed the mapmaking, although I kept automap on the whole game(automatically draws walls for you, but you still have to fill in other dungeon features yourself). The labyrinths all have pre-set layouts instead of the changing layouts from P3/P4, which is necessary because they also have more complicated puzzles to solve. The puzzles were enjoyable, but they dragged on a bit long in the later labyrinths. There are shortcuts that let you bypass puzzle sections after going through them once, which was much appreciated. The FOE system is interesting - they act like a puzzle at first since they're too strong to beat, but later you can(and should) defeat them to unlock special equipment. Character interaction is mostly in short cutscenes you see as you explore the labyrinths. Some of these are optional and easy to miss if you don't fully explore, but the longer ones are all mandatory. There are also brief optional interludes(referred to as "strolls" in-game) at the school, which tend to be short but fun pieces of fluff. You get plenty of characterization, but your interactions with the cast are definitely on rails. There are no social links in this game, and any conversation options you see only affect a few lines directly afterward. The game runs smoothly. I haven't noticed any bugs or glitches. The default battle speed is incredibly slow, but you can make it faster in the settings menu. The extras: Not worth it unless you need a 3DS case. This is a shame, since Atlus has a history of good pre-order bonuses. The soundtrack CD is four songs long. I understand that the full OST released in Japan is two discs long, which might be a bit much for a pre-order bonus, but at least give us more than four tracks! The artbook isn't the Persona 4 artbook, that's for sure. The book itself is well-made, but the contents disappoint. It has a short blurb from the director, the official art for each character plus a description for them, a couple pages of promo art, and...that's it. I haven't taken the tarot cards out of the plastic wrapping, but they seem well-made. They're fairly large, made of sturdy paper, and show off the arcana art nicely. The case is great. It's made of hard(but slightly flexible) plastic, is big enough for a 3DS XL, and has a card storage compartment inside. The outside has a bright, colorful design. The inside is black fabric with art of Teddie and Koromaru, one on each side.

Excelente precio

Gerne wieder.

The answer to "Arf Arf!" is YES.
Fabulous game, tons of fan service but that's exactly what I wanted. If you've played Persona 3 and 4 you will be thrilled getting to see all the interactions and characters again, and if you haven't you will still be able to enjoy the characters and game. I don't usually buy collector's editions, but had to for this game! The soundtrack is fabulous (the music in these games is ALWAYS fantastic!) and was the major reason I wanted this, but the case. Oh the case. It is adorable, hard and sturdy, with Koromaru and Teddy in there ready for an all-out attack. My 3DS XL fits in it perfectly with a pocket for more games/cables. It smells really strongly of plastic when you first take it out of the bag, but airing it out for a few days solves that. My only concern is the zipper pulls, while customized to be iconic exclamation marks, are really thin metal and I worry that they will snap off with regular use. I may just replace them with regular zipper pulls. The art book is gorgeous, and the tarot cards are fantastic as they're the ones fans from the series have come to know and love. So, 40 hours in and I am still loving this game -- and fully plan on playing through immediately with different choices the next time around.

Persona at it's finest
If you love Persona and RPG dungeon crawlers this is the game for you. It looks beautiful in 3D, the game mechanics are work well and the story is quite unique. This game has a ton of replay value and be prepared to spend at least 70+ hours with it. Also if you love Persona pick up this special edition it's more than worth a few extra dollars.
