Banks 66110 Programmer

Programmer was listed as it would work for my vehicle and engine type but it didn't at all. It caused my vehicle to shutdown and have to be reset to be driven again. Always check with the company tuner is from to see if it will work before wasting your money. Amazon just double check this.

Cool device. Updated off the web, and was tuning shortly after. Has 5 or so stages or different tunes. Selected sport 87 tune and it sure did a nice job of waking up my 3L V6 Ranger. Fixed many of the standing issues I felt the truck had. Sure did make the transmission shift like a much newer truck. I use this same tuner for my Tahoe and I ran the sport performance 91 tune, then the sport 87 tune, then I tried the economy tune and WOW, the economy tune was the way to go. Compared to stock and the two tunes that offered more power the economy tune made my Tahoe brilliant. It has plenty of power, it was the transmission that changed a ton. With the economy tune the shift pressure is much lower so the hard quick shifts are gone and instead there is a nice, quiet, smooth, soft shift that is pleasant to experience. The shift points are also much more user friendly and applicable. Where the stock and two performance tunes seemed to always be in the wrong gear, especially at low speeds, it would hold on to higher gears when it should have bucked down a gear. I was always manually shifting my Tahoe to the correct gear. I have not yet tried the economy tune with the Ford, it does not pound the gears like the Chevy so I am in no rush. Plus I like the extra punch I got from the performance tune. These AutoMind tuners are not cheap, but the results I have to say sure seem like it was money well spent.

it works, it did what I needed, but it wouldn't work on my computer to get updates, you cant change shift points or anything else dealing with your trany. I would say to save your money and get a TS or a PHP hydra!

I would put a zero star for the banks company. I bought the 6 gun tuner for my 6.7 cummins and it didn't really change the performance much at all. But my complaint is that the tuner messed up in less than 30 days of having it installed with less than 500 miles driven with it. I have reached out to banks and talked to a tech that said there is definitely something wrong with the tuner and to email a copy of the receipt. So I have done so and it has been a month and still no response back from them on sending it back to them for warranty or my money back. I have contacted the retail store (Armageddon diesel) as well. At first they seemed helpful but now its the same run around. Neither company wants to take responsibility for the bad product or to make it right with the customer. I will never buy a banks product or buy from Armageddon diesel every again.

Truck has a lot more power. I have 2010 f150 lariat with 5.4. The shifting is much firmer and i can bark the tires off the line easily. I added a k and n intake since the programmer and it had mad all the difference. Must have intake too to enjoy the hot rod truck feeling!

The program tuner was easy to use, especially, when I downloaded the updates from Banks Performance website. I tried to install it first knowing that I should've updated it first, and my truck denied the program. First, you have to download the update from Banks website to your computer, then from your computer to the programmer. The whole process took about 12 minutes to download, and then another 3-4 minutes to install the program tune on my truck. I installed the sport tune, changed the transmission shifting and removed the top speed limiter. All of the changes were exceptional - and I'm very pleased with the purchase of this programmer. I installed the program tune on a F-150 SVT Raptor 6.2L. I was biased to buy the Banks Programmer because of the legacy of the Banks name.
