I bought this to replace a Gibraltar Designer model mailbox that let a ton of water inside. This mailbox was a major improvement for only a small price increase. The bronze powdercoat finish is matte, and goes well with light colored siding. It also had the same distance between the mounting holes as the old Gibraltar (7.5 inches) so I only had to drill two new holes for the bottom set of mounting holes. The mounting holes are also offset from the back panel, meaning that the back of the mailbox isn't right up against your wall or siding. The mail slot is wide enough for priority mail envelopes and magazines without being folded or rolled. The mailbox is also tall enough and designed in such a way that the mail falls "forward" and away from the slot, so sticky fingers can't grab mail, even if they manage to reach in. As far as the lock and panel goes, it's a basic steel cam style lock. It's not insubstantial, but the reality is that this mailbox is screwed into something, and I suppose someone with a crowbar could pry your box off if they really wanted to. It's meant to deter people just reaching into the box, and it works well enough at that. But I do like the door as a convenience factor. I prefer opening up the front of the box to remove mail versus having to shove my hand into a top-opening box. There are pads on both the slot door and the front door to reduce noise, but the top door still makes a decent thunk. I ran the mailbox under the sink for several minutes to check for waterproofing, and I can confirm that no water got into the box. The doors are designed in such a way with labyrinthine overhangs and no open gaps. The hinge for the slot cover is offset as well, meaning there's no gaps along the hinge area for water to ingress. There are two drain holes at the bottom just in case water gets in (say, if the top panel is left open). But as long as the flap is closed, this is a massive improvement over the cheap Gibraltar that I inherited at my new place. You could do a lot worse than this mailbox for the same price.

Super fast shipping. The box is modern in style yet elegant. Easy to install and operates perfectly. The mail slot is large and easy for the mail person to access. The lock system works very well and the mail stays dry. I would purchase this item again.

We needed to replace our payment box for our storage sheds. I wanted something that looked nice, was good quality, and easy to open. This checked all the boxes! I really like it opens from the front. Much easier to get into than unlocking on the top. Where we have to mount our box is so high the mailbox before this was very hard to reach but with this one having the opening on the front it is soo much easier to get payments out! Box seems very sturdy overall and I think it will last a lot longer than our previous one.

The appearance, workmanship, lock feature and materials are excellent. Easy to install, dimensions for attachment points are noted in the instructions. Reasons for less than perfect score: 1) the hinge on the bottom of access panel is weak; I added chains on each side to prevent damage. 2) the key is not a standard pattern; my local locksmith needed to custom hand-modify a Yale blank to make a copy.

The look of the mailbox is good and easy to install. Clear instructions for mounting. My main drawback on a fully positive review is the sturdiness of the mailbox. You can insert your fingers into the drop slot and push one side of the locked opening enough to get something in there to easy peel back the lock door. As for where the screws mount to the box...if a nice solid strip of steel was placed for extra strength for mounting, than I would not worry about someone ripping it off the wall. I guess the old say goes for this "you get what you pay for!".

My last mailbox was destroyed by the mail carrier - magazines and advertisements didn't fit through the slot easily, so he just ripped the whole lid off! This one SOLVES EVERYTHING. It is tall, so magazines and larger envelopes fit perfectly standing up. The opening is wide enough to easily slide mail in, but narrow enough to prevent a hand pulling mail back out. I find it holds several days' worth of mail (I don't get a ton.) The lock works very easily. I like that the slot is completely covered by the top lid, so nothing gets wet. Wind did not pull the lid open either, which is great. So far so good, and it's nice to have a little design rather than just a flat front like most boxes. Best of all: the mail carrier is finding it easy to use, so we are both happy. :)

This mailbox is beautiful, easy to install, very sturdy, but not boxy as others were and it locks!

This is an excellent product. It is sturdy, looks good, and the slot for receiving mail is large enough for the mail person to put in 8-10 lettered with one motion. It is also capable of holding several days mail.

A caixa é bonita, de bom gosto, e bem acabada. Ainda não instalei, mas estou muito satisfeita com a aquisição.

We haven't installed the mailbox yet but the colour is perfect. The quality is very good.
