How long does this activity take roughly for a group of 5-6year olds?

It depends on their level of creativity and independence. My six year old did it by herself but was very particular about her layering and using many colors so it took her about fifteen minutes taking her time. But another child dumped four colors in careless levels to finish in about three minutes.
