How long does this activity take roughly for a group of 5-6year olds?

It depends on their level of creativity and independence. My six year old did it by herself but was very particular about her layering and using many colors so it took her about fifteen minutes taking her time. But another child dumped four colors in careless levels to finish in about three minutes.

What type of bag would you recommend for the kids to take these home in from school? Can someone post a direct link?

If I was doing school bags I would pick these 30 Pieces Non-Woven Party Tote Bags, 9.8'' x8.3'' Reusable Birthday Gift Bags Colorful Tote Bags

Grains of sand from one color stick to the sides. Light tapping doesn't help to dislodge them before adding the next color. Any suggestions?

Might be able to manipulate it with a small stick or toothpick
