*** 41 years old fitted bedroom furniture!! *** - Makeover
Wow .... Fabulous product .... Absolutely love how it has transformed my bedroom.Seriously, 41 years old!! There was nothing wrong with the quality and workmanship of this furniture, very solid and sturdy, I was just fed up of the out dated and old fashioned doors. I decided to purchase new doors for the wardrobes and new drawers. Then I came across these self adhesive rolls on Amazon from Soldgood and thought I'd try covering them first, as it wasn't a lot of money to lose, besides, I had other ideas for the rolls, as I was seriously expecting them to look rubbish.I began the tedious task of removing the awful trim, being careful not to pull off the melamine coating. Then gave them a thorough clean before beginning to cover one of the drawer fronts, I thought smallest area to cover/ easiest first. I must say that I am very particular and precise and I do have a lot of patience, so I very carefully removed an area of the backing and began pressing the vinyl onto the front. I found that I was getting tiny bubbles under the vinyl and being as precise as I am, I kept pulling it away and pushing the bubbles out with the enclosed plastic scraper. As I had not removed the drawer front away from the drawer, it was a kind of balancing act and needless to say, this was not helping the job in progress. I was very unhappy with it half way through, so I pulled it off in anger, made a brew and cut a new piece. This time, I removed the drawer front, ensured there were no particles of dust or cat hair attaching themselves to the furniture, as this was one of the reasons the bubbles appeared on my first attempt. Well, I replaced the plastic scraper with a soft cloth, kicked the cat out, lol, and began to cover the drawer front. It went on smoothly, gently pressing and pushing with the cloth on the vinyl from the centre to the outside of the paper, at the same time removing more backing paper, a few inches at a time. Amazing I thought, as I stared at the finished drawer front, now complete with new handles. I was very pleased with myself and my husband quietly approved, haha.7 drawer fronts, 4 tall wardrobe doors and 2 bridging doors later, I am so so happy with the finished look and so is my husband. It looks so much more modern, clean and the colour is amazing, 'glitter grey', a very subtle glitter, not tacky or cheap looking at all, I love it. It has certainly updated our drab bedroom, and at a fraction of the cost of new doors!!This product is fantastic, quality, very well made, very strong with excellent adhesion. There are even grid lines on the back of the backing paper, which help you to stay in a straight line whilst measuring and cutting, genius.Hints for others, take your time, be patient and don't rush. Ensure the surface you are covering is prepared before beginning, clean, dry and free from any dust, ensure it is smooth, finely sand it if not and wipe clean again. Remove the door fronts and apply whilst on a flat surface. Measure and measure again, to be sure. Use a sharp blade, like a stanley knife to trim the edges/ excess paper away, be precise and don't rush it, I found that a ruler helps as a guide when you cut/trim the excess away, a steel ruler not plastic. Only pull a few inches of the backing away at a time, push/ smooth carefully the vinyl out from the centre with a soft cloth.Definitely recommend to friends and family, excellent quality, superb coverage, nice and wide paper unlike others that I came across and definitely value for money. It's quite addictive once you've mastered it, I'm now deciding on my next project? an updated glossy white kitchen I think ............That's a wrap folks!!

Not near colour shown in picture of purchase
The colour was. Alot more pink on initial opening. I wasn't too happy but was upcycling a project for someone and looked okay. Just shame wasn't the darker colour in the photo and feel the picture should be updated as I would have not purchased having it been what I got.Otherwise its very sticky and easy to use.

Super easy and effective
The media could not be loaded. Not the best example in the video, need two hands to ensure a good quality roll and lay whilst using the scraper. The scraper is useful and does it job well, without damaging the vinyl.I used my roll of vinyl to cover up screws on back of a larder. Job was done quite quickly and little amount of air bubbles. The leftovers was used to spruce up the internals.I used a scalpel to make little holes to get rid of air bubbles, and no, you won't see these holes. You can use a needle or anything to pierce these air bubbles then squeeze it out.Take your time and roll it out bit by bit.

Good, thick vinyl...
We used this product to cover five mirrored wardrobe doors to hopefully help out a good friend who is experiencing visuoperceptual difficulties. There were big drops to cover (albeit we didn't cover the whole height) and we didn't want to allow for much mirror to show at each edge so we figured trying to hang such a big drop, with something so sticky was going to be really tough.Thankfully, the finished job looks better than we thought it might!First, this stuff is easy to cut accurately because of the checkered markings on the back of the sheet.Second, it's incredibly sticky. There is no way its coming off these mirrors by itself. It was a two person job for the size of task we had, and it did take us half of our first drop to find our groove. We personally found the enclosed application tool a bit flimsy and not easy to use on a vertical surface so we opted for a lint free cloth and a method of wiping the vinyl on from side to side as the other person held the vinyl very taut.By our third mirror, it was going on with no air bubbles at all. On the first two mirrors, where we had a few bubbles, we found they were easy to pop with a needle and rub over with our cloth. We're really pleased. I'm tempted to use some on our kitchen cupboards!

Love this stuff!
Been pondering for about 6 months on using this stuff to cover the kitchen cupboards.. I had bought some vinyl before from a different company and it hadn't lasted that well.. but i was desperate to get rid of the horrible brown wood on my kitchen units so took the chance ,i'm very glad i did! This stuff has transformed my kitchen and being on a budget i couldn't have done it any other way. There is a LOT of it on a roll and although some reviews said theirs had creases at the end of the roll i didn't find that to be true in my experience. This vinyl is very strong and thankfully doesn't tear easily, it was so easy to use i did the whole kitchen with no help in just a couple of hours. I find taking your time is well worth it. I also stuck some to a bare wall at the end of my tiles to just tidy it up a bit and its stuck fine with no peeling. i would advise rather than taking the roll right over the lip of your cupboard doors, to stop instead and cut so that it doesn't overlap over the top or sides, and just do the face of the door, it comes out much neater and wont catch if you have a drawer above that's being pulled in and out through use as i think it may over time encourage the vinyl to un-peel. I absolutely love this stuff and can't rate it highly enough. It arrived promptly and well packaged in slim cardboard boxes undamaged, would not hesitate to order again from this company. Would recommend.
