inTank All-in-One Aquarium Surface Skimmer - 4.75W x 2.5T x 0.75D

I don’t know if it’s a design flaw with Waterbox’s AIO tanks but on my 20 gallon cube when the water level is too high I get horrible surface skimming. This add on surface skimmer by InTank works great by not only allowing me to increase the water level in the display but also reducing all surface scum. I looked over to my tsnk while sitting down in my living room soon after Installing it and thought “holy crap, my water looks crystal clear and the surface looks like glass”. This is not an exaggeration. I remember back in the early days of the nano cube I would use part of a cassette tape case to accomplish close to the same effect. Thank you InTank for providing this.

This thing works perfectly for what I needed it for. It raised the water volume in the actually display side of my JBJ 24 Nano without me filling up the whole tank and back filter Chambers with water . Now the display side doesn’t look like it needs water . Also reduced the water in the back chambers ,I can actually see it overflowing into intank media tray and the water back there doesn’t look stagnant anymore. The water circulation is better.

Too many negative reviews on this product complain that it doesn't skim the film off the surface. That not what these are for. They won't skim any better than the slots in your All-in-One tank already has. I bought these based on the description which states they help raise the water level in AIO tanks. The slots in my IM Fusion 40 are so long that the water level is almost 2 inches from the top of the tank. With these in place, I am able to raise the water level to 1/2 inch. I only rate the product with 4 stars because the clip does not securely hold the product in place. I have to often reset. I am going to try to use aquarium safe magnets as another reviewer suggests. The criticism that the clips also prevent the use of snug fit covers is true. I use a DIY cover on my tank for ease of feeding, so I don't have that issue.

I use this with a Fijicube AIO DIY Kit with a 320 gph pump. I turned the pump all the way down and this skimmer did not flow enough water. The return chamber would be sucked dry. I had to use a dremel to extend the length of the teeth in order to get enough water flow for it to work.

I have a betta in a Spec V and struggle with the balance between low enough surface flow vs biofilm. This didn't do anything for the biofilm, and if anything made the filtration process harder because the tiniest bit of evaporation could make it so that the water line was below the bottom of the slats of the skimmer, keeping water from getting to the filter intake.

The skimmer that came with my Aquatop 40g puts the water very close to the rim. I replaced it with this one and it turned out great. I wasn't sure about the clip mounting but it works well and makes it easy to adjust. Also pleasantly surprised to see this made and sold domestically.

Love it! No more oily film at the surface of my tank, absolutely love it! It does what it’s supposed to do. I just had to adjust it correctly so that the flow rate into my filter chambers was good and poof that’s all you have to do. The black matches the back of my tank perfectly too, you can’t even notice it.

Absolutely Awesome Skimmer! It is far superior to the JBJ version. It is made much better. The best feature is the little clip that holds it in place when the pump is turned off. The JBJ version is held in place by the current created by the water pressure against it,and as soon as you turn off the pump it falls off into your aquarium.
