Very nice quality--Can't tell if it works
I bought this for my wife at the end of June, 2018. It seems to be well made, etc. etc. but for some reason, she has not baked me a pie yet. When I gave it to her she said, "What the hell is this?" and I told her. She thought it was a cute idea. (She mentioned the "four and twenty" blackbirds, etc.) I'm pretty disappointed (thought about deducting a star) that I've yet to receive any pie.

I was told by my spouse that the only way ...
I was told by my spouse that the only way I would get an apple pie baked for me is if I got a little blackbird for them. I was on amazon within minutes, found this gem, and three days later I had a slice of home made apple pie on my plate. Overall I would say it worked flawlessly.

Sturdy, cheeky, useful
This little bird is so cheeky and sturdy. He helped us make four pies in as many days and never complained. If you have a pie maker in your life, this would be a cute gift.

Great with my tomato pie!
I'm not much of a pie maker. But in the summer I make tomato pie. It is a pie that is a dinner. I put little x's in the top, but now I do that and use the pie bird. I think the pie bird helps it a lot. It helps to release some of the steam that is trapped by all the hot tomatoes. Believe me tomatoes hold the heat. We like our little guy. He has helped us this season.

As good as Gma's
I remember my great great grandmothers collection. It seemed there were hundreds, of all sizes, colors, and types. Every once in awhile, I'd be allowed to play with them. Time passed, and I tried baking pies. Never turned out as good as Gma's. Leave it to Alton Brown to remind me. Steam is bad. Now my pies are perfect. No bubble overs either. Nothing is so bad a slice of pie won't make it look better.
