Exceeded my expectations!
This is a fantastic light that throws light down the road, but also sends some photonic goodness to the sides for an extremely useful offroading light. The lens is glass, not plastic, and I'm happy with that. The aluminum housing is solid and substantial. The matte-black paint is really nice -- time will tell how well the paint can endure hot Texas summers -- so far, the paint has held up well. A fantastic product.

Great light
Excellent range, perfect for 2-4 lane road some light for the ditch, will get flashed to turn them off at more then 1/4 mile away, my one pencil beam works a lot better when other traffic is around without blinding others, will be adding 2 more fog lights for the ultimate light setup in any condition, IMO this a far more usable setup then LED light bar

Can’t go wrong with Hellas
Husband has these on our Taco’s ARB, loves them other than them seeming to fog up a little on the inside on humid days m.

Much better than the Hella 500/700 lamps
Much better than the Hella 500/700 lamps. Never buy a driving or offroad light with a H3 bulb. They are meant for wide narrow beams. If you want a light with reach stick to H1 lamps and fixtures. The stock 100W bulb is bright but a little yellow for me. I swapped in some 4500K HID's which added brightness(not a lot) but the whiter light is nicer. I will be adding another pair to my truck but will stick with 130W Halogens. They use more power but I want the instant on to act as high beams on dark remote roads.

Fantastic, and high quality.
I absolute love these lights, I installed them with ease using my factory OEM Hilux Surf fog light switch. You will need connectors and extra wire if you plan on doing these without any type of OEM relay or switch.

This is a hudge light
Bright but you must have a light bar or a huge mounting area for depth.

How far can you see with these? Soooooooo far!
These are great. Fitted to Mk1 Discovery. Easy install (had to cut the grille) but worth it. The only down side is the plug can easily come out the back. The plastic male part is not that well secured or water tight to the bowl. Otherwise, awesome lights. Definitely buy again.

Best Hella light I have owned!
Pencil beams are tight and driving are very close to pencil with a bit more wide diffusion of light. Connections are great! Super bright with distances of 1/4 mile plus.

I was going to buy Cibie's, but they are extremely difficult to source and I've heard they don't last. While the Hella are sold by pretty much any vendor and parts are available. The electrical connectors are also easy to find, just search for "timer interconnect" on Digikey or mouser (but they're included). I would've bought the Hella 3003 with plastic housings instead, but they were priced the same. These are very very sturdy units and I love the matte finish. I could not find any comparison between these and the free form reflector (clear lens) so I bought both and made a comparison, side-by-side. The euro beam is pretty narrow, which would be better for long range, while the FF gives a broader beam and a weird cutoff. That said, I don't think there's a better one, depends on what you need. In fact, I will probably keep one of each, even if they will look a bit odd. The pictures were taken just after I adjusted my headlamps, so the spots are 25 feet away and you can see the tape lines I have used to aim my headlights. The only complaint I have is that the packaging was very poor, they came in the retail box (almost falling apart) and I had to return one that did not have the accessories included. The replacement one had a slightly warped rock shield... but the lights were intact.

Used these lights before, almost 20 years ago, these are replacements, more reliable and less costly than LEDs, old school quality too.
