No installation instructions!!!
The manufacture made it harder to install this product than it had to be, because of no instructions . The hose reel came in an Amazon box, not a manufacture's carton. Bulk item or repack? The following are some hints for installing the item- 1) On the front of the reel, remove the round disc in the center by gently prying open the 2 clips. 2) After removing the disc inside the cylinder is a white plastic clip , slide it forward until it stops (about an inch). This will allow you to separate the reel from the mounting bracket. If you don't separate them it is impossible to mount the assembly. 3 ) Turn the mounting bracket over. Inside the cylinder is where you have to mount the supplied connecting hose. To do this , gently pry up the 2 clips, this will allow you to pull out the assembly to attach the supply hose.Once the hose is attached , reassemble it being sure there is a firm "snap" when the pieces go together. 4) Mount the bracket to the wall using at least 4 heavy duty screws (that you provide). 5) Slide the empty reel on to the bracket. When it is firmly in place, move the white tab in the reverse direction, locking the reel to the bracket. 6) Screw your hose to the "L" shaped connector in side the reel. Test for leaks. Two additional points- This reel is replacing a Suncast wall unit that was 15 years old (that cost only half as much as the Rain Wave unit). The new Rain Wave doesn't hold any more hose than the Suncast unit. The " hose guide " is a farce.

Poorly designed reel-didnt stay on wall
Had to return after paying someone to install & it fell off. A very good handyman but a poorly engineered reel

Great hose reel. Much better than the other cheaper options.
Great product. So much better than the other very cheap options for a side reel on the market. I do agree with some other reviews that they should include some mounting hardware, but definitely not a deal breaker.

Wonderful product for the price.
After 18yrs. I thought it was time for a new one, even though he grumbled. He loves it.

Read this for directions. This would be 4 stars if directions were included.
Holds 150ft of heavy duty hose, this would be 4 stars if it included instructions and hardware. Bonus stars if it had a template. Pop off the front cover, slide the white bracket over and pull apart the 2 sections. Before you mount it, install the feeder hose and note it can feed from the left or right. I lined up the top two holes, marked them, drilled them, and then hung it on the wall to mark the remaining screws. Removed from the wall, drilled and installed the remaining screws. I used 5 of the mounting holes and it seems pretty solid. Attach to the wall, reinstall the reel, and then add your hose. See the pictures.
