Such a great book! Easy and fun, it really makes you laugh. Kids enjoy it, and it’s easy to read—perfect for second graders and up.

7 year old loves Stick Dog! good read for 2 - 3 graders

This book was super funny and entertaining the whole time. The book is about five dogs with not the brightest ideas trying to steal some hotdogs before the raccoons steal them. I think this book would be great for kids 10 or younger.

This book is so good I keep reading it for a long time I'd rate this book five stars SERIOUSLY IT'S SO GOOD! READ IT NOW!!!! Well if I was you I would rate it READ THE WHOLE SERIES book one and Book two. I'd say book 1 was the best.

I love how this series is so cute for kids. It shows how listening to everyone’s ideas is important and not shamming them for their ideas. How teamwork is important and sharing, even if they aren’t on your team!

These books are cute, but once you’ve read one, you’ve kinda read them all. My 7 year old really enjoyed the first book, but when we started the second one, where the dogs are AGAIN trying to get food, it gets a bit boring…

I would like to personally shake Tom Watson's hand for having inspired my 7 year old to read again! My son is a good reader and began to read longer books independently last year, but just after Christmas, he suddenly lost interest and reading became a chore. In an effort to pique his interest again, we had an outing to a book shop and discovered the original 'Stick Dog.' My son loved it! The combination of his favourite thing in the world (i.e., dogs) and the fact that 'Stick Dog' himself is created because of the author's (apparent) drawing limitations (something from which my son also feels he suffers) was simply too good to miss. My son couldn't put it down and could be found frequently laughing out loud and as soon as he'd finished, asked if there were any more 'Stick Dog' books. As a result, I found myself pre-ordering 'Stick Dog Wants a Hot Dog' and the day it arrived, my son was so excited and couldn't wait to get started. Neither of us were disappointed. All of the entertaining elements from the first book were still there, along with even more laugh out loud moments (not just from my son). It's a great mix of humour, adventure and downright silliness that will - I have no doubt - appeal to many children. My son has since taken his copy to school to share with his friends and is desperate to read the next Stick Dog adventure. As my son would say, it was 'wooftastic!'
