Great 8x Braided Line
I’m not sure why I ever buy any other braided lines. The j-braid grand is great. It casts well, is very quiet in the guides, and is much smoother than other options (like Sufix Revolve). I use an Alberto knot to attach leader material to this braid and have had no issues- it provides a strong and reliable hold. j-braid grand is always a good value for the money. The diameter is thinner than other brands with the same test rating, and I’ve had no issues with wind knots.

IT SURVIVES ROCK FISHING FROM SHORE
I have this at 50lbs on my Daiwa Zillion TW HD baitcasting reel and Daiwa Proteus inshore rod. This thing performs amazingly and cast a mile (not in literal term but you get it). It is smooth, it retains it's color for the most part and it is strong. As the title states, I used this specific one for rock fishing. The abrasion resistance on this line is second to none in my opinion. The fact that it can withstand rubbing on sharp rocks when I'm fishing is remarkable. I have yet to break any line and for the price, it's quite hard to beat. If you're looking for a great fishing line from a reputable manufacturer that won't break easily, cast a country mile, cast smoothly and won't break your bank? Then I highly recommend for you to take a close look at these Daiwa J Braid X8 Grand.

Some of the finest line I have used, super thin diameter
Some.of the finest line I have used. The small diameter allowed.me.to step up a few pound test , it casts like a rocket .

A top tier braided line that you can't go wrong with.
In my fishing experience, I rely on just two main braided lines, and Daiwa X8 braid is one of my top choices. I typically switch between these two brands depending on which one offers the best price at the time. The Daiwa 8 strand braid stands out because it feels very smooth and produces less noise as it passes through the guides on the fishing rod, compared to other lines. It is more flexible than 4 strand braids, which can make knot tying a bit more challenging for some, but I believe the benefits make it worthwhile. Another advantage of this braid is its color retention; it holds its color much longer than budget lines, which often fade or bleed after just a few weeks of use. I suggest choosing the brighter color options, as they make it easier to follow your line in the water. Pairing the braid with a quality fluorocarbon leader helps keep the line invisible to fish. Using a reliable braided line like Daiwa J-Braid X8 is important because you want to avoid the risk of line breakage, especially when you have a large fish on the hook. Overall, I recommend sticking with trusted brands, and Daiwa J-Braid X8 is definitely a top contender in my opinion.

Long Casting But...
Small diameter and smooth 8 strand weave makes this longer casting than my Sufix 832. The trade off is the J-Braid Grand is noticeably less durable and on a fish fight even a momentary contact with a bottom obstacle could break the line. Knowing this I can switch between Daiwa Grand when casting distance is a priority and Sufix 832 when tougher line is advantageous. Excellent line within its limitations and I spool Daiwa Grand in 6, 8, 10, 15, and 20# tests for different apps. Like any braid I untwist the front 15' or whatever is needed after every session. No problems with wind knots on 3 different spinning reels as long as due diligence is applied to avoid loose loops on retrieves after casting.

Fish with peace of mind!
The Good: - Strong - Very smooth - Lighter than other braids of similar strength for further casting - Looks very sleek on darker colored reels The Bad: - The color has already slightly faded after just a few uses - Not as thin as some other premium JDM braid with the same pound Notes: Definitely noticed an extra 10+ yards of casting distance over another well known brand of braid. Have already reeled in some 22”+ fish with no issues. UPDATE: I’ve had times where the bail randomly closes during mid cast and this line has held strong. The line did not snap and I have not lost any lures since switching over to this line. I also just had a wind knot the other day and was able to easily undo the knot.

What I wanted!
It was what was wanted - and could not buy it locally! By brand - it is good quality-but it is the fishermans choice about the dirability and knot tying, and memory! Each fisherman has thier own preferance!

Strong and smooth casting
Great carrying and strong. It handles the weed beds, the teeth fish and even getting wrapped around logs. It also cats quite smoothly. Very impressed.
