A Heartfelt Story Woven with Real Emotions
I can only sayโjust go and read it. It is a true story with a touch of fiction. The characters mentioned in the book really existed. I will not divulge the story here, but what I can say is that the author has done complete justice in weaving together diverse situations. You will truly see and feel the emotions each character experiences as you turn the pages. Beautifully written. I have become a Heather Morris fan.

Tattooist of Auschwitz - Book Reviewโค๏ธ
I'm truly at a loss for words after reading this. The sheer courage it took to find love in a Nazi concentration camp, where survival was uncertain from one moment to the next, is beyond comprehension. Lale and Gita's story is not only one of the most harrowing but also one of the most beautiful and authentic love stories I have encountered. The fact that it is based on real events makes it all the more powerful and unsettling. For those accustomed to historical fiction with inevitable tragic endings, this book offers a refreshing, though still deeply impactful, perspective. If you're interested in understanding the unimaginable horrors and brutality enforced by the SS and Nazis at Auschwitz and Birkenau, I highly recommend this book. I also want to acknowledge the incredible efforts of the author in bringing this story to life, along with the invaluable insight she provides at the end of the book, detailing her journey working with Lale to share his story. MUST READ! โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

A war novel
The tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris genre comes under historical fiction & biographical fiction. About the story: Protagonist Lale, transported to Auschwitz during a war in the period 1942. Being a Jew, he has one thought in his mind to survive the situation. He fells in love with Gita who is also a prisoner in the camp. He has few friends named Cilka, Dana, etc., in common with Gita who helps them during critical situations. There he meets Pepan, who assigns Lale to do the tattooist job. From then Lale does his job of tattooing to all the prisoners who enters the camp. Lale believes that, one day he will be free from all these miseries. What happens next? Will he survive this death trap? Will he join in hand with Gita? What fate decides to play with them? Lies the suspense of the story. About the book: This story is based on true events that happened in the year 1942. I am not much of a historical fiction reader yet took this book based on the recommendation from few of my friends. The story was intriguing, and the pages just flipped so fast that I canโt keep the book down. My heart was broken, and tears rolled while reading the struggle of innocent people who were put to death and were exploited without mercy or humanity. The plot of the story was good as the author concentrated on the exclusive salient features of it. Love is one such essence that was mixed in the story to make it as a perfect novel. Certain places felt more of dramatic scenarios, yet it made us flicker in those moments and pull into the truth of reality. Fate plays a vital role in everyoneโs life and those who master it can survive the situation. Lale was brave enough to undergo such scenarios makes him to be a real hero. If he meant to be a hero, it doesnโt mean that he should save everyone but at least he put his effort by helping people and offering them what he can do with his abilities. The author has made efforts to explore and learn the truth behind the event happened and gave us a heart welcoming story. This book is full of tragedies, miseries, screaming, love etc., forms the perfect blend of the story. I would recommend to all readers who are fan of War based stories and has heart to withstand miseries. My rating is 4.5/5 for this vivid Novel. Unknown Facts of the Story: (Not part of the story) โข Laleโs parents were transported to the camp after 2 days when Lale left and was put to death, but Lale was unaware of it. โข Gita met Cilka only once after they departed from the camp.

A good one time read
Heather Morris's - The Tattooist of Auschwitz Rating - 3.5/5 What a fine structure and exhibition of human emotions, strength, compassion and horror! What makes this book stand out, from all the others on the horrors of the second World War, is that the characters here are real. Imagination gets a substance. . . The Tattooist of Auschwitz may seem occassionally coincidental, but, that is the truth of it. The book is as easy to read as watching a plane fly above. It isn't the horrific account one might be expecting. The plot is tight though, perhaps, a tad rushed towards the end. . . Morris's characters are bold, daring and immensely loveable. However, she doesn't delve deep into the psyche of the characters, as a result of which, the readers never learn any more about them, than the mere surface level. . . . A good one time read.

It is a tale of two people who found love and hope in the middle of evil and brutality.
This book is about two people, Lale and Gita, who survived a concentration camp at Auschwitz and eventually led a life in Australia. There have been many books about the Holocaust. You see similar patterns in them because there are few new ways you can present the truth. And they are all terrifying. Each book makes you rethink about how low humanity can sink to. Even though this story shows the effect of a megalomaniac on an entire race, it also shows the effect of hope and survival. It is a love story. The book makes you wonder how many such untold stories are out there. How many got a chance to tell theirs and how many had their stories cut too short. Yes, it is heartening to know that these two survived. They found strength and will in their love to do so. But you cannot turn a blind eye to the other parts which mention the cruel aspects of the genocide. Are these humans. Every time I read a book about this part of world history it makes me wonder. One thought. How? How can anyone do this to a fellow human being. I sound despondent. I am. Even though we know at the start that the story is about two people who survived. There is no mystery left in that. But what did they survive. That is what makes you shudder. Even as you close the book to happy thoughts you are appalled that this is a true story and not a fantastic piece of fiction. It is not imagined but experienced. I cannot imagine how Lale must have held on to these memories and what he must have gone through to relive them as he told them to the author. As you get to know them via the book, you wish you could have met Lale and Gita in their happy days. Witness their charming personalities. The author has done a brilliant job of telling their tale. It is a tale of savagery and barbarism. It is a tale of two people who found love and hope in the middle of evil and brutality. But above all, it is a tale of victory of the unbreakable human spirit.

Story about love and hope
Book: The Tattooist of Auschwitz Writer: Heather Morris Format: Paperback Rating: โญโญโญโญโญ The Tattooist of Auschwitz is yet another book affirming our belief in hope and love. It's a true story of Lale who not only survived the Holocaust with grit, determination and hope but also dared to fall in love with Gita, another prisoner, in the concentration camp. When Lale left his house and surrendered to be taken to Auschwitz so that his family could be left unharmed, he had only one thing with him that others didn't have - the survival instinct. He did anything and everything to stay alive as long as he was in the camp. He tried and found a job at the camp that would be less tedious and thus ends up becoming a tattooist who tattooed numbers onto the hands of prisoners. The tattooist had some privileges that others didn't have - a seperate cell, better quantity of food, etc. Lale, however, was good at heart and shared whatever extra he received with co prisoners. During his work of tattooing, he comes across Gita and falls in love with her at first sight. Their love blooms. When he did notknow whether he will be alive the next moment, loving someone deeply, truly and dreaming of leading a life with that person was a daring. Lale did dare that and instilled it in Gita too. The story is yet another reality check for us who crib and cry at the slightest of pain or discomfort. The book is quick paced, heart wrenching but in the end will leave you happy and positive. It's the best book to learn how to have that passionate survival instinct, how to be hopeful and positive and how to maneuver through the worst of situations in life. There's a passage towards the end of the book where Lale and Gita's son during the auction of their wealth and house sees his mother crooning and asks her how she can be so cool when they are losing their house and wealth. Gita smiles and says we did not know whether we will live the next moment and we dared to love so this is nothing. The book is yet another portrayal of the torture and cruelty inflicted on Jews but balmed with the love story of a positive man.

A riveting must-read
The way the author writes the truth of what went on in the concentration camp goes beyond the horrors anyone can imagine. Information like this needs to be known, and I was particularly touched by the reality of the account and the explanations of how contact was made between author and protagonist. It is skillfully written, and I couldn't put the book down!
