Sorel Women's Explorer Joan, Winter Boots for women

I LOVE these boots. They are generally well made, warm and super comfy. I can wear them all day and my feet stay warm, and don't ache or feel uncomfortable. Yes, if you need good arch support, these will probably not be supportive enough, but if that's not a problem for you, they might just be OK for you. Much has been made in the comments about the disparity in sizing but there are a few easy ways to resolve this. 1. DO NOT REFER TO THE SIZE CHART IN THE IMAGES - it is inaccurate. Only refer to the Sorel size chart underneath the pictures or on the Sorel website. 2. Use the cm/inches guide to work out what size shoe is right for you, not just the UK/EU/USA standard measurements. To get this right, measure the length of your foot using the Sorel guide. Then, based on your foot length, identify what should be the right size for you. However... 3. Do apply some common sense based upon what you know works best for your feet. E.g. My feet are 24.5cm long and the Sorel guide indicates that a UK6 should fit. HOWEVER - I dont like having squished up toes and so vary in shoe size between UK5 to UK6.5 depending upon the shoe. So, I ordered a UK6.5 based on what I felt would be suitable. They fit perfectly and I can wear one or two pairs of normal thickness socks with them, depending upon the need. I would add that my feet are D width which is generally considered average. However, if you have particularly wide feet, or want to wear thicker socks, I would suggest you size up a bit more. Now I have these I really don't know how I've managed without a pair before! They are my new winter favourites. If I could wear them all day, every day, I would.

Love these but sorry to have to return them. As others have reported you need to order next size up. I usually buy size 6 but think I may need a size 7 in these. I had to remove the sculptured insole and change into summer socks to get them on. They are really good. Look cute. Lightweight, comfortable, apparently waterproof! Shame about sizing. You would think the manufacturer would correct the sizes as it would save on all the returns and customer disappointment as well as a waste of time, expense and effort of all involved in delivery and packaging etc…

These boots are so warm and comfortable. They are fully lined with a warm material (the fake fur part is just for show at the very top). The soles are extremely comfortable like a high quality trainer and have fairly good tread on them to prevent slipping in icy conditions. I am a U.K8 and sized up to a 9. These fit perfectly and I can wear warm socks should I wish for extra warmth. Remarkably even in a size 9 they still look fairly compact for a boot, in my opinion making my feet appears ampler than some size 8’s I wear. As someone who suffers from cold hands and feet these are amazing at keeping me warm. Highly recommend.

I love Sorrel boots for walking the dogs. This is my third pair. I have a mid thigh snow boot for the snow/ice. An ankle zip boot for walking the dogs and then this pair I bought as I quite liked the look of them and I thought they would be a bit more versatile due to the laces. They are comfortable and adjustable. They are water resistant, they tolerate puddles/rain etc but I wouldn't wade through a stream in them! They keep my feet very warm. I have always suffered from poor circulation in my feet and they always get so cold. I am yet to find conditions where these don't keep my feet warm. As with the other Sorrel boots I have purchased, I needed one UK size bigger than usual. I wear a size 7UK and a size 8 fit perfectly. My feet aren't particularly wide and they fit snuggly so I am unsure if they would suit someone with a wider foot. I've not had any issues with quality in any of my pairs. They are worn daily and not had the soles fall off.

Explorer Joan 5.5 UK brown camel These boots are lovely, warm and so cute. I got them for dog walking, so waterproof is a must. I have somewhat poor circulation, however where I live it doesn't get too cold, so I can wear them with thin summer socks. I am usually a size 5 UK and have some older Sorel Carnival in 5, which are a very generous size, but with these Explorer Joan I ordered half a size up, and they are just about right for me in 5.5. If you live in a cold area and need thicker socks go one size up.

I have quite a few of the Explorer Carnival boots and this is the first of this style I've tried. As a brand, do run small but they fit brilliantly for me being a small narrow UK2.5/3. My toes are snug inside wearing a normal pair of socks. I would however recc. sizing up at least 1 for regular sized feet and for those who want to wear thick socks might have to go 2 sizes up. Inside is a soft fleece lining throughout the boot with a slight "memory foam" effect on the foot bed. They are really light (like a tough version of trainers) and easily worn from the minute you put them on and your feet are kept really toasty warm. They are a waterproof suede in a beautiful wine/plum colour with a little bit of grey fake fur trim at top. I really love them and highly rec the brand but sizing is small!!!!!

I bought these 2 years ago. The brand was a good name, and I wanted some boots that were comfy, but also warm. For the last two years, they have been great. I normally wouldn't spend the amount I did on boots, but I thought there a good brand, and you get what you pay for. The other day I noticed wet "drips" coming off one boot under the sole even after wiping my feet. There was a crack somewhere in the sole, and water had gone in, and was squelching out with every step. Now I can't wear these in the rain or snow. I thought they would have lasted more than 2 years. The laces haven't even worn down. It's the sole that's gone first. Pretty disappointed as I spent £112 on these.

Like most people I struggled with getting a good fit. I am a size 5.5 so thought a 6.5 should do it, but after trying that and the size 7, ended up getting the 7.5. So went up 2 full sizes. Once you have found your fit though, you won’t be disappointed. These are so comfy and warm. Put a spring in your step, and feel solid and secure without being heavy. The soles have a nice grip, and I feel safe walking over uneven ground and potentially slippery surfaces like those stupid pavers they use around malls that are like ice rinks when wet. The fleece lining is nice and cozy and soft, so your feet feel good in them all day. I haven’t been in really cold weather yet, but you can tell that they will stay warm. Besides all that, they are really stylish and look great on. Well made and great quality. I am very happy with them

Toller Schuh. Ich hatte ihn mir für Lappland, Finnland gekauft. Hatte ihn aber auch hier an. Der Schuh hält gut warm. Ich hatte ihn auch bei -30 Grad im Schnee an, um am See Polarlichter zu beobachten. Natürlich werden die Füße bei diesen Temperaturen etwas kühl, es war aber auch noch ok, wenn man sich bewegt hat. Der Fuß wurde nicht nass. Ich hatte den Stiefel aber vorher noch zusätzlich imprägniert. Der Schuh fällt relativ klein aus. Man sollte also mindestens ein bis zwei Nummer größer nehmen. Sollte man zwei paar Wollsocken reinziehen wollen, sollte er ggf. auch 2-3 Nummer größer sein. In Lappland zieht man die Schuhe so an, dass gut Luft bleibt. Mit zwei paar Socken bleibt der Fuß dann auch warm. Bei mir passt eher nur eine Socke rein, für Deutschland ist das aber ausreichend. Und in Finnland häufig auch. Der Schuh ist auf jeden Fall eine gute Empfehlung. Er ist super bequem und lässt sich schnell an- und ausziehen. Für Hundeschlittentouren etc. hatte ich aber einen Thermoschuh an. Den konnte man dort leihen. Somit war der Sorel Joan eine gute Alternative, wenn man nicht ständig in Boots durch die Gegend laufen wollte.

Super belles chaussures. Je les avais vu en magasin spécialisé montagne ou le prix était 30 % plus élevé. Ici j’ai trouvé ma taille la couleur que je souhaitais. Elles sont vraiment très belles. la qualité est au rendez-vous, elles sont chaudes et tiennent bien la cheville. Je vais les imperméabiliser parce que c’est du daim mais cela leur donne tout le confort puisque ça s’adapte à la largeur du pied . pris en 41 mais une demi-pointure aurait ideal pour plus de confort et pouvoir mettre des chaussettes plus épaisses.
