Quality, easy roti and best value
I have bought this product at least 2 times and used it. I also have bought few other brands like Brentwood. This is the only one that easily produces a flat and even roti or tortilla. Most other ones will produce roti that is very thin on one side or will be so uneven that you have to redo it two three different directions and then it does not puff well or becomes very hard or wont break into biting pieces easily. This product is also not perfect until you master the dove softness and right size, but once you get that this will product even roti. Yes it is not 100% perfect, you may get little thinner one side sometimes, but you do it once and then heat it up on a pan, you get a very nice roti. I wouldnt recommend to roti on the machine, you also need to use little spray oil so that it does not stick and presses slightly easier as well. Brentwood is the worst one and other brands not as good either. Most of these machines will last 2 years max as long you prevent oil from getting on the wires and keep it clean. This is one the best value for the money.

Never worked well and then broke. Do not recommend.
This tortilla maker was difficult to "get the hang of". I love to cook and was excited to make my own tortillas, however this machine produced inconsistent results. It felt like you had to place just the right sized dough in just the right place, and use the exact right amount of pressure and let it cook for precisely the right amount of time, just to get an okay tortilla. We eventually figured out how to get results we liked, and then the machine BROKE!!! After using it probably 6 times over the course of 14 months, we plugged it in last night and it won't heat up!!! I am overall disappointed and would NOT recommend this product.

another hit kitchen aide from Amazon
I bought this to replace an earlier model that got lost in transit when we moved. It is a real handy helper to have when making tortillas. Follow the recipe for flour tortillas in the little recipe book that comes with it. I make a few changes - - - They get eaten so fast that I make a larger amount: 3 cups of unbleached, all purpose flour, 3/4 tsp salt,6 Tbls good quality solid stick margarine (cut into small pieces) 1 cup warm water. I also use a little baking powder - a tsp. or so. I mix the dough quickly in a food processor. and put it in an airtight plastic container when it is mixed. Handle the dough as litle as possible. Let it rest in a cool place for an hour or two. Use the hottest setting when shaping the tortillas.I feel that this tortilla maker is not meant to cook the tortillas - only to shape them and leave on the bottom plate (the hottest part) for a minute or two, so the don't stick together when stacked. We always cook our tortillas over a gas stove burner, one at a time. Store them is an airtight manner in the fridge - they will keep for several days.I went into such a long review of this product because some reviewers didn't feel that it performed in a satisfactory manner. I find it to be an excellent product when used properly. I love mine, and so does my husband who grew eating his Mom's hommade tortllas.

Poor quality, worse customer care by sellers
Bought new unit in July. After a single use, it stopped working. Tried to trouble shoot but no success. Contacted Amazon who asked me to contact seller as it was past 30 days after purchase. Seller showed no interest in solving my issue or retaining a customer by either replacing the unit or trying to fix it. They promptly referred me back to Amazon who refunded part of the purchase price. Three strikes against the manufacturer/seller Revel- one, poor quality as unit did not even last 1 year. Two, does not even try to fix the issue or replace the unit. That would allow them to build goodwill and also try to understand why unit failed. Last but not the least, seems they already know that unit is of poor quality so they dump it on Amazon to deal with it. Thanks for the lesson. No more Revel products for my household!!

La masa debe estar en el punto justo.
La masa debe estar a un punto justo de elasticidad y humedad. Si no, se quiebran o se agujeran las tortillas.

Works great!
I purchased this for my mom since she and my dad refuse to eat store bought tortillas. She can make a big stack of tortillas that will last a long time in the refrigerator. She only cooks them half way so that when she needs them, she can finish cooking them on the stove top and they taste freshly made. It saves her a lot of time. My Aunt went over to her house to try it out and loved it so I bought her one too.

Tortilla heaven
Well, I have to admit that at first I was a little skeptical, but...After a little practice with a few different kinds of flour (since I can't have wheat), I found the tortilla maker to be an absolute delight. I've made dozens and dozens already, since it really doesn't take very long at all. At first we discovered that if we left the lid down too long while pressing, the tortillas would explode, but with a little practice on the timing and the temperature, we were making professional grade tortillas and filling them with all kinds of delicious fillings. The best part about this is that we get to control exactly what goes into the tortillas, so we can make them as healthy as we prefer. We've tried teff flour, rye flour, barley flour, spelt flour (the sourghum and millet didn't work really well so far) If you don't have one, and you like tortillas, you really should get one! Highly recommended! I would give five stars but I can't seem to get my tortillas as flat as I'd really like and I wish they could make the tortillas much larger.
