Review: Beautifully cheerful and positive reading. - It's a beautifully written little book. Perfect for a gift or even if you've all of a sudden got a lot of time on your hands. Very cheerful and sentimental quotes to learn how to write. This is certainly worth getting. Even for just a read through, or new hobby. Or even cause you ust want to sit and have some time to unwind. It's ever so easy to get lost into these pages. Would certainly recommend 100%. And it's a cute and handy little size as well to fit in your bag or to just carry around to find a lovely spot in the Country to go and read before trying out any of the practical parts of it. Review: Lovely for calligraphy practice - This book is so nice, there are some really nice designs. Unfortunately the ink runs through, so I bought a good quality tracing paper book (ideal for calligraphy) and go over them using that.

Perfect if you already have some experience
This is a beautiful little book. I had assumed this would be approx a4 size but it’s more handbag sized. Perfect if you want to take it out and about. I’m a complete novice and find that I’m able to do a good amount of this. I would say it’s not perfect for complete beginners (I bought on impulse so should have read the details more closely I think) as it doesn’t go into great detail about equipment or methods. Having said that it is still very calming to do, and is very satisfying. The book and content is gorgeous, portable, and not too twee. I will be looking for more of her titles.

Bought this for a gift. Really happy with it I think I’ll buy myself one too! There’s plenty of relaxing designs to trace as well tips on techniques. Really useful if you’re new to lettering

I really wanted to like this but unfortunately feel it’s pretty average overall
This book is a lot smaller in physical size than is likely to be envisaged. Barely more than pocket size. On the positive side of things there are nice, brief projects to do and the style is likely to have wide appeal. On the negative side however, the book doesn’t open flat at all and whilst the paper is thick it’s awful for fountain pens which is somewhat poor for a calligraphy book. I tried a variety of different high quality inks and various fountain pens with different nibs but they all bleed through. Some of the designs are so ‘chunky’ they feel more like they need colouring in than writing over. There is even a design error with a back to front letter on one page. Pretty average in terms of quality but fun to do for bite size practice and some blank pages are included for freestyle designs and writing.
