Devil Horns and Metal madness at its best
It's the story of a Finnish Death Metal garage band from a small, rustic village in Finland. The characters are first presented as mundane anti-heroes, shunned by the mainstream pop culture town losers who, through a quick twist of fate pitch their music to a Norwegian Metal fest promoter. Overcoming their own fears and local prejudices, they fight the odds and embark on a journey to test their talent and skill in front an audience for the first time.If you liked Deathgasm, Stoned Age or Detroit Rock city and other films shedding light on the brilliant bliss that is Metal and its immeasurable contribution to culture, then you'll love this film. Slow paced at times, but with unexpected bolts of witty humor. Though not as animated as the titles mentioned above, it's definitely worth the watch.

OK, I'm Not Into Heavy Metal Satire
This would have been a lot funnier, I suspect, if I were into heavy metal rock satire, but it does have some bits even I found quite funny. It's hard for me to place it, temporally. It takes place mostly in a small Finnish town; would the town sheriff /really/ still be acting like it was the 60s? Is rural Finland really stuck that far into the past?Or is the film actually set far enough in the past for that to be conceivable, if a bit exaggerated (this being, after all, a satire)?Anyway, this is the story of a small-town heavy metal band that, when rejected from a concert in Norway, decides to go anyway, notwithstanding the fact that their drummer has to be transported there in his coffin, as he is dead at that point. They are a great success. In many ways, including starting a small border war. This one was /definitely/ worth seeing.Oh, and for "close caption", those subtitles looked a lot like regular subtitles: no attempt to describe what the viewer would be hearing if he or she could hear which, of course, is the whole point of closed captioning. The subtitles were, however, clear and understandable and generally well done.

Really funny for metalheads, still pretty funny for others
I wasn't expecting much from this film, but it actually had really good character development and several solid jokes. If you are into (or at least aware of) the black/death metal scene, it's going to be really funny to you and I think it's well done enough that you'll still like it even if that's not your thing.

Very Very Good Film!!!
I've had this film saved for some time and finally watched it today. Very good film, kind of like a modern day version of the film, Leningrad Cowboys, which has a similar story and plot, with a little bit of the film, Airheads, mixed in. Very good story. Towards the end, things got somewhat unrealistic, but not enough to ruin the film for me. Even if you're not a metalhead, if you appreciate music or were in a local band when you were younger, you'll like this film.

Fantastic!
As an avid metalhead and someone who is really picky with movies and prefers not watching them altogether, THIS movie blew me away. I have been a metalhead for over half of my life, and I have yet to watch a metal movie that was not too cheesy. This one was perfect. It had all elements of metal- it had some folk metal, thrash metal, death metal, and black metal. It had a good plot and was interesting the entire time. It also made me grin ear-to-ear at many points throughout the movie and the overall message was fantastic. I am no movie critic, I don't really know the concrete elements of what constitutes a good movie in regards to structure, but this was amazing. From the setting, to the plot, very well-casted might I add- its as if they got real metalheads to play the parts- just great!

A true comedy gem - and from Finland, no less!
I read a review of this delightful little movie that recommended it, so I took a chance and put it on my βwatch when availableβ list. I am so glad I did, because this is not only a very funny movie but also a deeply humane one as well. Every character is treated with compassion, and none are held up for ridicule. (Well, maybe one is.) I would not have expected this kind of film to come out of Finland, the home of brooding darkness and existential despair. Grot your teeth, read the subtitles, and have a good laugh!

GERMAN LANGUAGE VERSION
Missed the finer details down the page that still fails to mention there are no English subtitles available for this film. Would have been good to see this in the product title, misleading customers for a cheap sale. Scumbags.

Love this film, about the tale of an up and coming metal band. A lot of black humour, and great music. Definitely worth checking out, for followers of metal music!! ,π€π»
