These are awsome!!!
Made perfectly!!! I welded them myself and just can’t get over the difference. Sets way better in the water. Also can control my boat in reverse now!!!! No worries anymore

Make for sure it fits your transom angle!
Perfect for my application. Fit perfectly on my 14/40 job boat. I would advise you see if your transom is at a angle or is straight as the pods fit on at a angle. They are made to have a 15 degree angle where it meets the transom. I’m satisfied with my purchase and they tremendously help the floatation in my boat! I can run in 14” of water with my mud motor before The motor starts to hit bottom!

Good product. Too bad it's made in China....
Fast shipping and honestly well built with good material. Aluminum looks to be 10ga, or what most people will refer generically to 1/8" (although it's actually 0.102" thick). Welds were obviously not TIG welded with the "stacked dimes", but not goose turds either. Airtight, so good to go. My biggest gripe is that no where on the Beavertail website or Amazon add did they disclose the country of origin. From all appearances I believed these to be made in the USA. Not the case, as my heart dropped when the box arrived with "Made in China" emblazoned on the outside.... I do my best to purchase USA made products. A little research on the web and you will find another company selling comparable pods that are made in the USA for just a little more. Once I got over that issue, the pods mounted easily taking my time and careful measurements/planning. I mounted with six 5/16"SS bolts each, using 1/4" aluminum flat bar on the inside of the transom, SS fender washers inside the pods. I cut 4" holes on top of the pods to access for bolting, and installed the inspection hatches. Don't be scared use the bolting method. Welding is an expensive option that leaves no room for adjustment, and can really goof up your boat if done wrong. Simple, liberal circle of 5200 sealant around each bolt hole (that stuff is wonderful) tighten the bolts snug plug a quarter turn and you will have zero leaks. The angle worked great on my boat with no need to shim. Watch all the Youtube videos on opinions for mounting angle. I've got probably 3/4" rise on the trailing corner with this mount. Very pleased with the result. It's like I added a foot of length to my 1442 Xtreme River Skiff. No more sinking the transom when backing in with that heavy surface drive. And it planes immediately now. These are the small sized pods and limit the side-to-side pivot of the motor slightly, but no adverse impact to steering at all. I applied Herculiner (another fine product) to tops while lining the rest of the boat for a non-slip step for entering the boat. Totally pleased with the result. Just wish I had verified the country of origin before ordering. Good luck!

Best bet for adding some flotation!
Installed the small pods on our 13.6" Johnsen skiff. Usually set about 3-4" out of the water with 3 of us and 12 gallons of fuel in the back. After installing these, we gained a good 6-8" more. Now we sit about 10-12" out of the water. Definitely happy with them. Also, this is on a fiberglass skiff, and I bolted them to the transom. I used 6 3/8" bolts, then 1/4 plate steel on the bottom bolts inside the transom, and 3/4 HDPE on the top bolts inside the transom. Also used 5200 on the plates inside, and the back of the pods. Extremely sturdy, will hold my weight if I sit on them and can also grab the handles and pick the back of the boat up. Great deal!
