Would work if it were made with the right plastic.
Decent idea, poor execution.Like many I bought these for short trips where I don't want to put my clipless shoes on. I went in with the expectation that these wouldn't be fit for permanent attachment to the bike, just something you clip on and ride, then take off when you're done. That won't even be the case however. When I got them I tried fitting them and they snapped in place like I expected them to, then I took them off to see how well that worked, worked decently, a little tough to get off but that seemed good though. The problem arose when trying to put them back on. After one use the cam doesn't lock in place anymore, the plastic deformed to where there's a .1mm gap between the green cam and the black catch. After looking at them for a while I came to the conclusion that the plastic is either ABS or HIPS, not a bad plastic, just not the right choice here. Glass filled Nylon would have been more resistant to deformation, even talk filled nylon or glass filled ABS or HIPS would have worked, but straight ABS does not work. Additionally, the locking mechanism could stand to be bigger, sure you'd have to pop them off with a screwdriver or a bottle opener, but at least they'd stay on the pedal.

Not meant for long term use.
I haven't experienced any of the problems other have had. They're great. I plan to buy a couple more pairs for other bikes. No more needing clipless shoes to the grocery store, no more using regular shoes on awkward clips. Switching to SPD on my road bike to use them on that now too. Great product, will recommend, will buy again.Edit - After 10-15 uses product began to fail and eventually fell apart and are now unusable. Bummer, great idea.

Pretty nifty conversion for SPD pedals
My job is located 15 minutes away from my home by bike. I love my SPD shoes but to lug around another pair of shoes for such a short ride was frustrating. I love these adapters because they are easy to install and do what they are designed for. So, I love them but why 4 stars and not 5? I think that they should have had a mount for placing toe cages on the pedals. If toe cages could have been installed then hands down these adapters would have received a 5. I still love them though!

Great idea - so close
I have used them 3 or 4 times. They are easy to install and remove. The only problem is the tabs that lock the lever closed seem to wear a little every time you open and close them. They no longer "Click" closed when not on the pedal and one actually fell off the bike while riding last night. Great idea. Just needs stronger material around the locking mechanism.

Meh, just get pedals with platforms on one side.
I didn't read "for occasional use only." Broke on a sprint after about 300 miles. Kinda dangerous.I would only use it to go to the grocery store or to commute to work in an emergency.Pedals with platforms on one side and SPD on the other are $40 and will last much longer than these for $20.

Great idea, poor execution
This is a great idea, just poorly executed. The pedals do snap on and off with ease--the problem is that they keep popping off in random places and I've burned through two pairs in just a couple of months! Once the last of these pops off I'll be replacing them with dual pedals.

Almost Works
It almost works well, its weight causes it to stay upside down. You have to flip it with your hand or foot for it to work.easier to just uses clipless shoes or just pedal without it as uncomfortable as it is this is almost as bad because it's always upside down.

A pedal for bicycle commuters?
PedalDabs maybe problematic for commuters. In a city where some drivers are lazer-focused on getting to their destination, a bicycle commuter must be ready to bolt from a starting position in a moment's notice. The PedalDabs require flipping the pedal into position before riding.
