Best at filtering dust
Excellent at filtering dust. I've had mine on my shop vacuum for 4 years now and it keeps working. Like other reviewers have noted, it's not really a muffler but is excellent at keeping the dust in the vacuum. I use my vac in the basement and before this device I rarely used may shop vacuum because it made a bigger mess than it picked up. So for the price, especially if your using a shop vac inside get one of these.

Game Changer
This is an incredibly nice attachment. The filtering is spot on. Before, the taste of dust was unbearable. It was easy to attach and didn't diminish the suction any noticeable amount. The material is strong and well made. The performance is as advertised.

Muffler Diffuser? Diffuser, yes. Noise muffler, not so much.
I happened across this item while searching for shop vacuum filters & it looked like something I needed to add to my shop vacuum! The pros: + $11.02 with free Amazon shipping when I purchased this. ◄ Of course after I bought this, I see it for 1/2 that price! + Fits my Craftsman XSP 12 gallon 5.5 hp shop vacuum. + Advertised - quieter operation: Vac muffler diffuser helps reduce air noise. ◄ See my remarks on this below. + Advertised - reduce blowing: Diffuses wet dry vacuum air stream to reduce blowing debris and dust. + Advertised - easy installation: Connects to the blowing port of the shop vacuum. ◄ See my remarks on this below. + Advertised - industrial grade construction: CRAFTSMAN wet dry vacuum attachments are built to handle heavy use. + Advertised - fits: Craftsman wet/dry vacs with a 2-1/2 in. blowing port. The cons: - Not the best fit, no way to push this on far enough for the lock to work? Luckily, no real need for the latch to be engaged. Closing remarks: ▪ This doesn't reduce the shop vacuum noise to any noticeable degree, but it does provide some additional filtration & it does divert the exhaust to the sides.

Must-have for wet vacuuming
Must-have for wet vacuuming. Using this avoids water spraying out the back, which can get quite messy, especially if you are using it indoors. Sturdy- only bought a new one because dogs ate the old one.

Good addition
Super easy to use! Fit on my boyfriend’s rigid shop vac. I feel like it makes it less of a high pitch but doesn’t eliminate much sound. But it does stop a lot of small stuff coming out the back. Overall great addition!

I saw this featured in a YouTube video to reduce the noise of a shop vac AND diffuse the blowing action from the blower port of the shop vac. The blower port had always been a frustration for me in my woodworking shop because it blew all the fine dust particles everywhere. This adaptor diffuses the blast of exhaust air so it partially eliminates the problem AND make the shop vac a little quieter, too!
