LED Flashlights Rechargeable Torch,Chenglnn Ultra Bright CREE XM-L2 U2 LED 450 lumens Waterproof Flashlight (Blue)

 After about 6 months, no longer works. Steady beam dims in less than a second, flashing setting still works. Appears to be malfunction in protection circuitry. Asked seller about 5 year warranty, and received response to check the battery. Doh! I have a few 18500 batteries that work fine in other flashlights, just not this one. Listing says 5-year warranty, but seller response is not satisfactory.------ Original review ------It appears the chip used in this flashlight is a genuine Cree XM-L2. This is no small feat since I have ordered (and returned) other flashlights that claim to be XM-L2 but are not. A light that shows 6 rectangular strips is an XM-L T6, which is older and dimmer. Chips with 3 or 4 rectangular strips are XP-E or XP-G with even lower output. The current generation Cree have a dot pattern on the chip as shown in the attached photo. Aside from the LED chip, this light is a gray-blue color (a nice change from boring black) and appears well finished. The tail cap screws in smoothly without the drag or rough feel of similar cheap flashlights. The front head also unscrews which is good for serviceability. The light does not zoom, but comes with a dimpled reflector that works well. I realize that zoomable lights lose efficiency/lumens compared to a good reflector -- but I wish it were zoomable. It would be more versatile even if max brightness was not as good. There is plenty of light, clearly better than my older XM-L T6 flashlights. It is also lighter and more compact than my T6 lights. Note that a 18650 battery and charger are included in the package, which makes it a great deal. The charger is USB powered though, which is less convenient for me than a mains charger. There is a sturdy holster and lanyard included. I like the lanyard, but a spring clip would have been useful. There is no clip included. This seller also has a Cree XP-L alternative in the same listing for just a little more. After trying this model, don't see a good reason to get the upgraded model. AFAIK the lumen/watt efficiency is similar for the XM-L2 and XP-L,the XP-L does have higher bins with more output. But in general a light is only brighter at the expense of shorter runtime. And this light output is plenty bright enough that I would rather have longer runtime than even more brightness.

Hard pressed to find a better light for the money. I've bought 4 of these, and compared to my Fenix UC35, they are really nice

I use it daily for work looking underneath cars and I’ve only had it for about 2 and a half months and now it doesn’t stay on and flickers. Thought it was going to last and be a good flash light but disappointed that it’s already malfunctioning. Other than that very bright white light.

Excellent flashlight. Compact and built tough. 3 levels of brightness. High level is extremely bright and the housing will start to heat up so I usually use on medium (which is still bright) for any extended time.

Bought the same light last year for $6 dollars cheaper. The one i recently ordered was dinged up and had no charger.
