This gate is not good for keeping determined dogs out. Also not good for small, crafty, obnoxious dogs. Also not good for lazy teenagers who refuse to lift their legs to step over it as it does not stay attached to the wall when any force is applied. However, it is made out of a very strong mesh material and is extra long which made it the only thing that had a chance of working on our awkward large opening at the top of our staircase. I needed something that could attach to a round staircase post. I wrapped one end around the post itself because the gate was too long and tied it with ribbon. This works great for my 12 year old 30lb shi tzu because he is a good dog who just needed a visual reminder not to go down the stairs. Unfortunately, the mean cranky 12 year old 18lb Pomeranian that is forced to live downstairs because she wants to kill my shi tzu, immediately just pushed her way under it. I bought a second one of these and installed it on the first step at the bottom of the stairs so there is no gap and now both dogs can live peacefully ever after with a full staircase to separate them.

This product is amazing! I have to have baby gates for my dogs everywhere and they’re big and they’re bulky and they don’t always fit right in the spot. This is flexible and I can just move it back when I’m not using it or remove it and it’s not unsightly it’s easy to use and it keeps my

Please believe me when I say I have secured this as tight as possible. The design is just wrong... They give you two short poles to insert on the sides, but what is really needed is a pole for the bottom. But then, it would not be "portable" anymore. 2 stars because there is nothing wrong with the quality. The design is the fault.

I really liked the concept of this gate, we have a strangely configured stairway and a traditional baby gate would be difficult to use. I liked that I could wrap one end around a post, however either it was too long and sagged or it wasn’t long enough. This is not the fault of the manufacturer, the reason I gave it three stars is bc 1: There were no directions in the packaging. 2: Once the gate was set up it is difficult to open and shut it, perhaps it would have been better with directions. 3: After about 45 min of battling with this gate I decided it was a lost cause and went to take down the hooks and the hooks peeled the paint off of the wall.I’m going to keep the gate because I think it would work in a different situation but I will definitely use command hooks instead so not to mess up my wall. It would also be much better as a more permanent barrier instead of at the top of a set of stairs that would need to be opened frequently.

Works okay but rips very easy. If your dogs bumps their nose into it, it can rip easy.

Nice gate. Not great for really small dogs as you have to install it too high due to the baseboard base board. If your house doesn’t have a baseboard in the opening, this is a great gate for small dogs. Build from strong PVC pipe and good mesh, installation was fairly easy although it uses inserts and if you are not familiar with those, it may be a little tough, but still easy enough.

Extremely annoying to install. Damages paint and dry wall. If you pull it tight enough so it’s not floppy and hook it closed then you can’t open it. Bad design not worth the struggle

Great mesh gate. Husband assembled so I do not know the difficulty. But works for keeping the little one from stairs. We use it as a child gate rather than a pet gate

Stitching was falling apart when it arrived. There's no way this would hold back a child or dog. Also smelled toxic. Very poor quality (I would give it zero stars if possible).
