Is the polyester in these socks microfiber?

Yes. And don't bother buying them. They are so thin, provide zero comfort and are small compared to what they say the size is. Not work the money.

Are these easy to put on and off-do they go past the ankle??

Yes they are easy to put on & take off. They go past the ankle.

I wear timberland boots what socks are to wear with the boots?

It depends on how high your boots are. These are crew socks, that means they go to about mid calf or a bit lower.
