Never Girls #1: In a Blink (Disney: The Never Girls)

My daughter loves Tinkerbell and the Disney fairies, so I had to grab this book for her. It’s filled with some good adventure, cliffhangers in chapter endings to keep her excited for the next nights readings, and nothing too “grown” for a child’s book. I’m thrilled, and can’t wait for book 2 to arrive!

I got this book for my daughter. I am Trying to encourage a love of reading and find books she enjoys. She is in 2nd grade and reads at an age appropriate level. She enjoyed this book. I will buy more in the series.

My 6 year old daughter is a big fan of Disney Fairies. Her favorite color is blue so her favorite fairy is Silvermist. She has been a big fan of the Pixie Hollow Tales book series and we probably have a dozen of those books. When we saw this new series, we picked up the first book as soon as we could. The first Never Girls book was great. It had a slightly lower reading level making it a better reading book for my daughter. She is good with the first series, but struggles on a few words here and there. In addition, there is a lot of consistency between the Never Girls series and the Pixie Hollow series meaning some of the terms that are unique to the Disney Fairies universe are used in both books. The consistency makes the new series a great compliment to the original. Now that we knew she loved the Never Girls series, we ordered books 2 and 3, which she finished in a matter of a few days, and pre-ordered books 4, 5 and 6. Once Never Girls #4 arrived, she finished it in a matter of days and really enjoyed it just like the previous books. We have since ordered every book in this series. I have a 4th grader that has a hard time with reading and comprehension. I bought the first two books in this series on a whim thinking maybe something aside from school books would make her WANT to read. We started by alternating pages and reading for 30 min a night and before long she was asking to read and wanting to read the entire time! The pictures are fun to keep her interested and the storyline is cute and easy to follow. There are cliff hangers at the end of several chapters so I was able to send her off to bed wanting to read more the next day and even talk with her about what she thought might happen next! I highly recommend these books to parents with daughters who may struggle with reading!! We just purchased books 3 & 4!

I bought the Kindle version for my 6 year old. She loves anything Tinker bell and pixie hollow related. I hope school her and she independently reads on her own all the time. She was hesitant at first because it didn't have as many pictures as she likes, but we need to be moving to chapter books, and one night while I was brushing her hair I made her start reading, she's completely hooked and LOVES IT... They have a few sketches here and there and she eats them up... "WOOO mommy it's Fawn!" So I'm grateful for that... She's on chapter three now and reads it in bed before naps and before bedtime, often falling asleep with the kindle in her hands. I will definitely be getting the completely series, although I'm not sure if I want the rest on the kindle as books are being extinct for the younger generation, and I find books to have wonderful qualities you can't get from an electronic device! So I think I'll be buying the rest in paperback...

This was a great chapter book for my 1st grader and I to read together. She can't wait to read each night. We even bought the 2nd book right after finishing this one. It is a perfect book for bridging chapter books that still have many pictures to relying more on visualization. It is innocent and fun, but also has some instances that can lend themselves to "what would you do" talks if that is your cup of tea.

Prefect present for a child learning to read. Letters are big, pictures for visual help. A lovely story about friends and sisters. I bought the book for me to read as well as for my future daughters. I'm making a small library of children's book and its Prefect add to it.
