A stunning artefact book for fans of the Horus Heresy From the ashes of the Great Crusade, treachery was born. Always first among the superhuman primarchs, the newly dubbed Warmaster Horus turned his back upon the Emperor and embraced the dark powers of Chaos. With fully half the military might of the fledgling Imperium at his command, he set his sights upon the throne of Holy Terra and waged a war which would divide the galaxy forever... Visions of war, visions of darkness, of treachery and death – all of this and more is contained within this heretical volume. Iconic depictions of the Space Marine Legions and the heroes that commanded them are presented alongside artwork from renowned artists Neil Robert, as well as brand new historical notes on the Warhammer 40,000 universe by Alan Merrett. Witness the end of an era and the beginning of something far darker, as the Heresy continues to unfold. Review: Worth every penny - This book came out a month ago from Black Library, but since waiting a month would mean getting it for $30 less, I decided to be patient. Honestly, the higher price would still not be a rip-off. This book is massive, over 300 pages and packed with full colour art. I understand that it has the contents of two older books, but they are now out of print and difficult to find. There's also plenty of new material, such as the spectacular front cover. If I came across this book without knowing anything about the Horus Heresy, between the text and the art I'd be ordering a copy of "Horus Rising" right away. Review: Outstanding compilation - This book should thrill Warhammer 40,000 fans. Collected in this single volume are all the four artbooks from the Visions series, namely Visions Of War , Visions Of Darkness , Visions Of Treachery and Visions Of Death . Those books are out of print and so this is the utmost convenient volume. This is a humongous hardcover with 416 pages. desertcart listed the number of pages wrongly at 320. You might note that there's also another book called The Horus Heresy: Collected Visions that was released in 2007. Well, this can be considered the updated edition of that book. Text is the same. According to the author Alan Merrett, this edition includes new text and illustrations. This book is great bargain considering that around 80 per cent is filled with art. What you get are pages after pages of different warriors fighting for their cause. Each 2-page spread covers a specific subject, for example, The Great Crusade is condensed to a single column beside a big piece of art that stretches three quarters. Right at the back is an exclusive 5 pages from the first Horus Heresy graphic novel that continues The Battle of Calth. A bit too short but the art is still fantastic, just like the rest of the book. Highly recommended to Warhammer 40K and sci-fi fantasy fans. (See more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my desertcart profile for the link.)

Beautiful book!
I bought this as a birthday gift for my SO, who is a huge Warhammer 40k fan. He loved it! As others have pointed out, it's listed as used but it came brand new. I've seen used art books like this for twice the price. And shipping was lightning fast with Prime. If you're a 40k fan, jump on this one!

Horus Heresy at its best!!
This is an amazing book. Loaded with terrific artwork. Most of it comes from previous books that are out of print. First, there were four original "Horus Heresy: Visions of War" over sized books. Then they came out with a hard backed book that consolidated them all, "The Horus Heresy: Collected Visions". All of that material is in this new book plus a lot of new stuff. All the terrific art you see on the Horus Heresy paperback covers is also in here. If you are a fan of this series, this is a must have!!!!!

The Emperor protects
This book is amazing. It really helps bring the 30K universe to life! The art work is beautiful and I am sure it would make the Emperor himself swell with tears. A great piece to add to any 40K fanboy's collection.

I got this book for him for Xmas be wise of the amazing artwork Games Workshop offers
I started buying The Horus Heresy books and audiobooks for my husband (has long commute) years ago because he was a Warhammer player and now I'm hooked on them as well. I got this book for him for Xmas be wise of the amazing artwork Games Workshop offers. Glad I did.

Not too special
Well produced with some art from the HH novel covers, but overall the imagery seems to lack coherence with the body of text, and it ends up feeling rather random. Also, just like the original Collected Visions, many of the sub-headings for images lack clarity or context as to what's going on. The HH cover images are just the titles of the novels to which they belong, but ultimately don't describe what's going on or why it was even placed in that section.

For the Emperor!!!
To say this mighty tome impresses is a complete understatement! Weighing in at just over 2kg and a heafty 300+ pages this hard back release is jam packed with artwork and accounts of events leading up to and primarily focusing on The Horus Heresy. The content is chronologically arranged and features artwork both old and new. The quality of art does vary from quite basic and ageing hand drawn pieces which have a classic feel to hyper detailed contemporary works as showcased on the stunning wrap around cover. There is also quite a bit of written content which, if you haven't been following the Black Library novel series of the same name, will help fill in background information and cover the major plot points of the Heresy. For me this is an essential accompaniment to the rich tapestry of written literature available from Black Library and really helps bring the background of the Warhammer 40k universe to life. Recommended to both fans of the series and newcomers alike!

Bellissima raccolta
