This special educational edition of Anne Franks unique diary, describing her familys plight during the Nazi persecution, is accompanied by substantial background material and photographs to help students to contextualise this teenager's account Review: Excellent book - I’m not sure how I went through public school in the 60’s and never read this book. After a trip to Amsterdam recently I decided to read it. What an amazing young woman she was Review: Good Story, Bad Copy - This is a story that everyone should read. I read it the first time when I was about Anne's age and just read it again at almost 50. It will break your heart and make you cry. The first time I read it I did not get the feeling of doom, the fear and even the anger. No child should ever have to see, hear and feel the things that Anne was forced to. But with all that said, don't buy this copy of her story. It has typos and strange line breaks, missing letters and misspellings that change an entire sentence.

Good Story, Bad Copy

some of the words are wrong...
It is like this was taken from a PDF and transcribed. Words like 'close' are written as 'dose.' In fact every time there is a double letter combo that looks like another letter, it will almost always be written incorrectly. Classified will be 'dassified.' The word journal is 'joumal.' furnace is 'fumace,' etc. And so on, if there is a letter combination that looks like anther letter, chances are it will be transcribed incorrectly. Of course the story is fantastic and so hard to believe that she was only 13 when she started, "Dear Kitty." And the story is an excellent historical document written from the eyes of a child. It is an amazing story. This is my 4th time to read the book, so I guess that is why getting the wording wrong, really upset me.

She had the making of a great writer
To think Anne write her diary when she was between the age of 12-15 is mind boggling. To be able to deliver a piece like this at her age shows that she had the potential to become a great writer. Alas, we know what happened to everyone in their hiding place. That war was monstrous. Let us never forget. It was so interesting to read the dynamics between the people hiding together and I think she did a great job describing each person. I could even picture at times the fear and tension that they felt knowing how dangerous it was for them if they were ever found. Highly recommended.

Remains Profoundly Relevant.
I'm sure we all have a list of books we feel nearly everyone has read, except me. For me, this is one of those books. The truth is, I'm glad that I missed it until I became a senior in my years. I don't believe I would or could have appreciated the circumstances or arc of time that we still suffer in and have failed to learn from. Anne, a mere child, captures not only her immediate struggles and circumstances, but the human condition and injustice that we still stand by and allow. Read this book. We are all complicit in our world's failings.

Beautiful book
So sad to read this book as she was well known as her diary was written well as described what was going on while in hiding.

Re-reading for the 10th time
As the title says I feel this book worthy of multiple readings. First, in school at 12 and now 60 years later. I always see something I had missed. There are many mistakes in this printing though not in the original Diary. I would never presume that the errors were Anne's though it was originally not written in English. If you haven't read this you owe it to yourself to see this time through the eyes of a young teen.

A Snapshot in Courage
This is a must read for the ages. How can a teenager be so articulate, introspective, and brave in such a horrific situation? Can anyone imagine what it must be like to stay in hiding like this with 7 other people for YEARS? Although most may already know the general theme of this diary, reading her words illustrates the sacrifices and struggle for life that her family made. Anne dreamed of being a writer someday and she was already a brilliant writer and thinker with incredible vocabulary. It’s a tragedy all was cut short by the horrors of Nazi Germany.
