fantastic product
This produces a very low heat. It is just right for my sock-feet. I sit in front of a window and the area under my desk is absolutely freezing. I will be comfortable in a t-shirt while my feet are freezing in socks and fuzzy slippers. If I am wearing slippers, as I do most of the time I telework, it is just a smidge too warm after about 30 min. I wish it had a lower-power mode, but it's no big deal to take off my slippers or turn it off for a bit.My only other feedback is the power cord is a good length, but the switch is right in the middle of it. I wish the cord was a bit longer. Or the switch was on a separate cord. Or if it was activated by a foot press on the mat or something. It's not a big deal, but it's not long enough to run from the floor up to a comfortable height I can reach and back down to my power strip.

Good solution for cold feet, silent & far more effecient than a space heater. Worked until .. it didn't.
UPDATE: One week later, the mat has stopped working entirely. The red light on the switch lights up but the mat is cold. Returning it to Amazon for a replacement. For now I'll keep it at 5 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This heated mat is awesome. It's silent, comfy & seems well-built. The amount of heat it generates is perfect. The small space heater I had used before was noisy & at 1500 watts, was 25 TIMES LESS EFFICIENT than this mat!! (The mat I received has a 60-watt sticker, although Amazon description states 70 watts). My only minor complaint is I think the power cord is a little short, considering the power switch is located roughly in the middle & needs to be somewhere accessible. So using it under a desk, it's effectively a 3' power cord. But that's a manageable issue & easily solved with an extension cord, or better yet, a wifi-controlled smart plug. Not taking any stars off for that.

Unreliable. Broke 4th use.
Worked great a few times, under feet at my desk. Cold snap this week, plugged it it in and it worked for about 10 minutes, then no heat.Unreliable. No product support. Can't contact manufacturer to get repair or replacement. Never buy from this company.

Toasty
Great for cold feet. They needed an automatic shut off because I keep leaving them on by accident, which seems like a big waste and also potentially shortens the lifespan of the product. Perhaps the new ones have that.

Magic Carpet
Edit: My first one of these lasted some time, but I left it on accidentally while we were on vacation for a week, and it stopped working. My sister bought me a second one for my birthday, and it didn't even last a year. I absolutely love this thing and am super bummed it no longer works. One of the nice features of this product (that I notice now that I'm trying to replace it) is that it's a carpet - so it's comfy on the feet, but it doesn't pick up all the dirt like the fleece ones (so it doesn't need to be laundered; you can just vacuum it).I bought one of these because I figured it would save me money over buying a space heater for my office, and it wouldn't subject my husband to my personal love of warmth. It worked so awesomely that my mom's boss bought her one for the office at work. Due to an injury, she can't wear closed shoes or socks, and her feet were always cold. The day she left her job, she lamented not being able to take it with her. So I bought one for her for Christmas.I've found that it works best when you're wearing socks or sock-like slippers because they trap the heat and disperse it more evenly around the foot. But if you're like my mom and can't wear socks, then I recommend putting a small cloth - maybe wash rag size - over the carpet because it does get really hot directly.I love this. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. And my feet are always toasty.

The one that works with a smart switch
Worked well for 10 years on a smart switch, then died. I’m buying the same thing again. Key advantage is you can have this switched on and off with other electronics, or manually switch it on and off. Other designs don’t auto turn on when powered up. Ours automatically turns on when the monitor on our computer turns on.

Works for me, but I wish there was a better alternative.
This is working for me. I can’t feel the warmth through my shoes, but when I take off my shoes and place my stockinged feet on the mat, it keeps my feet warm. The mat is just warm enough to feel good on my stockinged feet, but not too hot. Additionally, if it’s on all day, it helps warm up the air underneath my desk by a few degrees.I wish that the temperature would go a little higher, but if it got hot enough for me to feel the warmth through my shoes, that probably would be unsafe. There are three negatives; therefore, if there had been a better alternative, I would have ordered it instead. (1) It would be much more comfortable on my stockinged feet and warmer if the carpet were a deeper pile, like a shag. I thought it was a deeper pile carpet - it looks like it in the photo. It’s actually more like commercial carpet. (2) There’s not an automatic shut-off; I have to set a reminder every day for 4:58pm to turn it off. (3) It slides away from me constantly, even though my office floor is carpeted.JULY 2019:I've still been using this through the summer, because with the air conditioning in my office and wearing sandals, sometimes my feet got chilly. This is just right to keep my feet warm. I solved the problem of it creeping away from me - I put double-stick carpet tape on the underside of it. At first, I tried just one strip of carpet tape, but that didn't hold it in place. I tried again, putting carpet tape along each edge, plus several strips in the middle, and that did the trick - it now stays in place.

excellent footwarmer
This footwarmer looks OK and looks to be well built. It doesn't smell at all and I'm very sensitive to smells. I was glad to see that it gets uncomfortably hot without a dimmer because a dimmer is easy to add. I did not buy the associated 2 speed dimmer switch because the reviews said it was only 2 speed and low was only slightly lower than high. Instead I bought an infinitely adjustable Leviton TB103 plug-in lamp dimmer for $11 (available in white or colors at Amazon or hardware stores). I am an electrician and I like the Leviton dimmers for reliability and absolutely quiet operation. I can't stand the cheap dimmers that hum or buzz so I always buy Leviton dimmers. The dimmer controll has it's own cord for handy positioning and a green led that lights when it is off so I can easily check to make sure it is off when I go to bed. I don't heat my San Diego house at all and sometimes my feet used to be cold before I solved that problem with this delightful footwarmer.

Best way to get through winter
I purchased this approx 6 months ago, as I have wood floors. Every previous winter, I would always find myself tucking my legs up, to keep my feet warm. This year, no such thing. I have this pad running all day, and it makes my feet nice and comfortable. It's highly durable, and works really well. I've been recommending this product to many friends with the same issue, and if you have cold floors, I recommend you purchase it as well.

Keeps me warm in my basement office
When renovating our basement we considered installing under floor heating to supplement the heating from our furnace. We opted against it given the cost. This little piece of carpet has been the greatest addition to my office setup since moving down here permanently. I find that I no longer need to run a space heater as the warmth on my feet is enough to make my entire body feel warm.I've paired this with a smart plug so that It comes on and turns off in conjunction with the work day and prevent it from being left on. The only feature I'd add to improve this is some sort of a timer for safety.

Update: Stopped Working
Update: a year to the day it stopped working :( my feet are very cold again and it makes me sad. Dropped stars as a product should last more than a year.Does the job. Quite small so you can’t exactly pace around on it but it works. Not overly soft or thick. Reminds me of carpets that are in office buildings.
