Majestic Premium Cocoa Powder, 2 Pound Can with Ghirardelli Stamped Barista Spoon

Rich, flavorful cocoa. It’s perfect for baking and tastes great in classic hot cocoa. I fill a 16 oz mason jar with it for my cupboard and freeze the rest since the container is so huge. That way the fat content won’t go rancid and give it any “off” flavors. Expensive, but worth it!

I go through a lot of cocoa powder, like A LOT. I use it in baking, coffee, hot cocoa, chocolate milk (cocoa powder and honey make a beautiful healthier and richer chocolate milk), and breakfast drinks. I blow through one of those little 8oz containers in a month or two and might use nearly a whole container on one batch of brownies, so I was hoping to find something bigger to last me longer and hopefully not cost too much per ounce. I was also hoping to find a cocoa that was higher quality, even though I was happy with Hershey’s Special Dark, I figured Ghirardelli’s had to be a step up in cocoa since theater is already the case with their chocolate bars. I didn’t really expect a huge difference in flavor, but even just opening the can and smelling the difference between the two there’s no comparison, it already smells richer and more scrumptious even before you start adding it to anything. It’s got a very smooth, rich, complex flavor that just makes me want to use it in everything. It makes gorgeous brownies and drinks, I’m not blowing through smaller containers all the time which was annoying for me and bad for the planet, I’m sold. I know there’s fancier cocoas out there, but they’re so expensive, and I feel this is the best middle of the road cocoa out there where you balance price and quality. I highly recommend!

I have Hot Chocolate every afternoon, this a dark, rich Cocoa. I have had it in Red Velvet Cake and Cookies Very good.

This is the best Cocco powder to use. Nice rich, not bitter or burnt tasting flavor. Well worth the money I bake a great deal and cookies and cakes out prefect. I have a chocolate cake recipe that I make with buttermilk and coffee. It is my granddaughter's favorite cake.

I already love Ghirardelli chocolate, but this cocoa powder really knocks it out of the park as far as baking cocoas. The flavor is a delicious, standard dark Ghirardelli chocolate flavor (think: 60% bittersweet baking chips). The powder is super fine and I usually use it in my coffee in the mornings. It blends just fine in cold liquids (in this case, plant milk) in just a minute or so with a whisk and blends in very nicely compared to other cocoa powders I've used. The addition of cocoa butter to the powder makes it ridiculously smooth. I've also used it a couple times in baking and it is consistent there as well: smooth, blends easily, delicious. This set comes with a Ghirardelli logo-stamped tablespoon which is pretty cute as well.

Good taste just make sure you pay close attention to whether it is plain or dark. I like the dark and accidentally bought the plain.

I make 16 oz hot cocoa in the AM with milk plus 2 Tbsp of this powders and 2 Tbsp sugar. It is rich and satisfying. I get to choose the intensity of sweetness to my taste vs the pre-mixed sweetened powder. It is also cheaper per drink. In the PM I use less milk plus a shot of espresso for a mocha. This is good stuff. Only question is what to do with all the tablespoons i am accumulating.
