pFsense and OpenMediaVault recognized this card with no issues
Used two of these - one in a pFsense box and one in an OpenMediaVault box. The pFsense box had no problem recognizing it. I backed up the existing pFsense configuration, pulled the old quad NIC Intel board, and replaced it with one of these (the quad NIC Intel board was being freed up for use in a ProxMox VM machine). I edited the pFsense config XML and replaced the existing WAN, LAN, and VLAN IDs to the old quad NIC board with the IDs for this new board (I was only using 2 of the 4 interfaces on the quad NIC, as I've resorted to using VLANs rather than physical NICs to isolate LAN, IoT, and Guest networks). I was able to restore the pFsense box with the modified backup config XML and it rebooted with no problem, showing gigabit speeds on both the WAN and LAN side. The second one of these devices I installed in an OpenMediaVault NAS, and the Intel NICs on this board showed a significant speed increase over the Realtek NIC on the motherboard; transfer speeds from the OMV box to a TrueNAS VM running under ProxMox showed a speed increase of about 600mbps from the Realtek NIC to 900+mbps using the newly installed Intel NIC. Quite happy with my purchase - I purchased a third one which will likely find its way into another pFsense build for a family member.

Value priced, meets or exceeds description, works as advertised and is a value.
I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agendaโฆ. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Useful dual-port Intel-based Gigabit card
This dual-port Gigabit Ethernet card is a practical option when you need more wired network interfaces. The Intel 82576 chipset is a good reason to consider it, because Intel NICs are generally well-supported in Linux, Windows, and many router/server environments. The low-profile bracket is also useful for small-form-factor builds. This is not a 2.5G or 10G card, but for firewall, router, Proxmox, Linux server, or general dual-LAN projects, Gigabit is still very useful. I liked this better than using random USB Ethernet adapters because PCIe NICs tend to be more stable for always-on systems. I was satisfied with the card.

Might not work
I needed a 2-port NIC that fits into a x1 PCI-E slot. If you want an Intel chipset then the options are pretty limited. When I installed it, Windows didn't recognize it. So I looked on the CD for drivers. It seems it stopped at Win10. Device manager gives me a code 56. It's possible that the driver conflicts with another NIC I have in the system so maybe it's not the card's fault. Hence, I am only deducting one star.

Solved Issues with Onboard LAN
Love this piece. Installed in my W2016 Plex and file server to retire the overworked onboard chip, which was getting flaky. Plug and play, and since W2016 supports NIC teaming, my server now has a 2 gig connection to the LAN. And look at that heatsink! No wonder the lame onboard NIC died!

There is NO 7x24 support!
Yes, the product works. There was no documentation or installation instructions. I was able to Google the mfgr website to locate the Intel driver and download the zip file, perform the installation. At first, I actually, HOPED to get help (didnโt realize that I needed to disable my failing comms card or the new one would not be recognized) and reached out for help. I purchased this particular item BECAUSE of promise of tech support. No deal. Support site is in Chinese characters (!) and I correctly guessed they were asking for my name and email. Automated response (this time in English) saying they might be โbusy or awayโ and to leave my email address. Itโs six hours later, and no response.

Worth the money
I am using this in my pfsense box, they work out of the box. I replaced the stock thermal glue with a drop of MX4. It does get little hot without a fan so I added an 80mm fan facing directly on the nic and it is much cooler now even under heavy load.
