It worked for me! I am thrilled.
This product is simple to use, I recommend reading the instructions multiple times if you have more than simple water in oil condition, there are variables to each situation and the details matter. They recommend running this product with no antifreeze in the cooling system, just water. Flushing all the antifreeze out is the most difficult part of the job. The cost is considerably more than other head gasket repairs in a bottle but I was willing to risk the cash as I was confident this would not cause undesirable consequences like the other could. I am talking about clogging water passages or heater core which would only exacerbate the issues. Steal Seal does not contain any metals or material that will clog passages. Their is a money back guarantee and I called after my treatment seemed to not work and they did quickly offer money back or a complimentary second treatment, so no issues with customer service there. I did ask them some pretty detailed questions because I wanted to understand how the product works. I got answers although that may have been accurate but I am not 100% sure. I was told the product is only effective during the first heat cycle. That may or may not be true and I am leaning towards it probably is At any rate, I did not get a great deal of confidence on the technical part of the conversation but if you are concerned if they will provide money back I believe they will. I did a lot of reading on this product before deciding to try it and I am glad I did, it provided a lot of reference to consider. I will describe my situation in case it provides insight to anyone considering this product. I have had symptoms of a blown head gasket in a 2004 4Runner V6 for a long time. My symptoms were the coolant reservoir becoming over filled. When the vehicle was hot and running you could see air bubbles coming out of the overflow reservoir hose into the reservoir coolant. Occasionally, I would get check engine light for misfire on cylinder 6 (and more recently cylinder 2 as well) at startup but it would clear itself in short order. Lately, the vehicle had been starting rough, especially after a long drive and cool down. Presumably the rough start was due to the lack of combustion in the cylinder due to water that drained into it and/or lack of compression due to leaky head gasket that vastly improved when the engine began to heat up and expand. I never had any white steam coming from the tail pipe other than the standard moisture burn off in the exhaust system that any vehicle will exhibit on cold startup especially on cold days. I have not had any water in the oil. There are specific additional instructions to follow if you have back pressure in the cooling system like I did. The treatment calls for removal of spark plug of the suspect cylinder and then run up to temp and for an additional 30 minutes at high idle. I did not compression test my cylinders and frankly all three spark plugs on bank 2 of my engine looked pretty suspect for water intrusion. Given this, I was not too confident but I know cyl 6 was the initial issue and likely the worst so I pulled it and left the radiator cap off and ran the treatment. I then let the car cool down, replaced the spark plug and let the car sit over night. The next morning I fired it up and still had bubbles coming into reservoir. I then went for a drive on the highway for about 8 miles. Back at home still bubbles. I figured the treatment did not succeed. I figured my engine was no better or worse off after the treatment. Fast forward almost two weeks and I have had no rough starts and the radiator is staying completely full, reservoir is maintaining a stable level once cooled down (normal) and I am not seeing bubbles in the reservoir any longer. I think it worked!!! I am thinking the bubbles I saw the first couple of days may have been the system purging air as would be normal after any coolant change. OR the product continued to work over a few heat cycles to ultimately cure my issue. The weather has been cool since I did this treatment so the cooling system is definitely not being taxed heavily. I will try to remember to update this in a few months once the weather is hot to confirm if it is still holding up.

Exspensive for a reason. It works!
Bought a cash car with a blown head gasket. The oil/coolant barrier hadn't popped, though there was a serious compression leak as coolant was getting into a spark plug chamber. This product's quality is unmatched, as far as I'm concern, outside actually replacing the gasket. The instruction are there for a reason! Read them Follow them otherwise you will end up damaging components like your thermostat, water pump, and potentially a few sensors depending on what car you drive. The product seems to be an activated silicone base, which, when introduced to high temperatures, coagulates and settles. Very similar to the copper/metallic based products out there which are vastly cheaper, but actually works long-term, without monthlyโif not weeklyโapplications. That all said, I did have a failure about 3 months after use. I called the helpdesk, which excitedly was a mechanic answering a business cell phone. He took my info, sent me the "professional strength" bottle with EXPLICIT instructions. I followed them and haven't had an issue since. Keep in mind that this is a stopgap/bandage solution. The real deal fix is to replace the blown gasket. As such, I don't take this vehicle on long tips, or push it past 60 MPH, mostly on principle. That said, it's been roughly a year and driving around town has given me no issues.

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT worth it!
It stopped the headgasket issue. But also slugged up the radiator. And who knows what else? I knew better... but was in a bind. So I made the mistake of trying this and adding a lot of additional work. Hoping I can get it out without further trouble? Just save your money for the real fix (replacing the headgasket). This may work... for some? But we all know its temporary.

Steal Seal Saves the Day!!
Bought a 2016 Postmaster, I have had the truck for about 3 months and the head gasket failed. I was putting in 1/2-gallon of water every 4 days. It would seize over night and would not turn over in the morning. I had to keep trying to turn over the motor to blow the water out of the cylinder 6-8 times before it would start. I had no water in the oil. I purchased the 2 bottIe - repair kit. I called the number on the bottle and asked for some advise and the tech really new what he was doing. Put the 2 bottles in and drove it at high ways speeds for an hour. Let it cool over night and no more water coming out the tail pipe and starts very smoothly!! Highly recommend the product... The tech says it is a high probability that it will be permanent fix, we shall see but have high confidence that it will last....

Stands by their producr
Steel Seal has been a great customer experience for me. My old vehicle blew a head gasket in the middle of 2021. Other head gasket repair products that I tried clogged the radiator and heater core and did not fully fix the blown gasket. I read reviews on Steel Seal and researched the technology, finding it is a unique product that builds a solid gasket under pressure and heat, vs the other products that rely on fibers to fill the gaps. I had to flush my coolant system to get the old product out plus clean out the radiator and heater core which took a while. Adding Steel Seal and running the engine at high RPM sealed the head gasket leak within a couple of minutes of the engine warming up and the vehicle ran great through the recommended treatment period. The treatment held for about 8 months, even passing a smog check with better readings than the previous check. Unfortunately the fix did not hold and the same cylinder started misfiring. I suspect some of the original fix may still have been in place and gave way, and not enough Steel Seal remained from the first treatment to seal the gap. Steel Seal quickly sent a replacement treatment under its warranty and within minutes the fix was restored. The vehicle has been running great again for several weeks with no further issues. I plan to hang onto the vehicle for another year or two so this was the ideal fix for my situation vs going through the effort and cost of replacing the head gaskets. Thank you to the Steel Seal team for creating and backing an innovative product that quickly solved this issue!

O8 Lexus RX 350. V6. 214 k number 2 misfire
Was chasing down a misfire code number two cylinder code would return after changing spark plug coil pack and cleaning injector eventually the vehicle overheated on a trip shut it down had to be towed back home . Expansion bottle full radiator 3/4 gallon low. Canโt always trust just the expansion bottle. Performed add gasket leak test using the chamber with the die test to test prove positive for head gasket leak or combustion gas is in the coolant No water symptoms seen in oil . reviewed all options , opted for steel seal based upon reviews. And so far first application it cured it and the car has about 1000 miles on it now since the application so itโs truly to early to tell. but so far itโs holding up . Car is driveable as normal. No coolant loss. Temp gauge as before , normal. . No code return.

Yes, BUT . . .
Following the instructions did NOT work. This includes the additional instructions on the website. Given the exorbitant price, I decided to try a little harder. Here's how it went for me: 1. 2014 Jeep Wrangler JK: I flushed the cooling system and used only water. 2. I added two bottles of Steel Seal 3. I had to drive roughly 2 weeks (500 miles), it got better, but this alone wasn't enough. 4. I then followed the "not road worthy" instructions, but altered - instead of 1000-1500rpm, I went with 2,000 - 2,500. I performed the 30-minute procedure twice on a steep incline; once facing uphill, and once facing downhill. 5. After another 500 miles, the head gasket is completely sealed. What to Know: - If you use purple or orange antifreeze, DO NOT ADD THIS STUFF TO IT! YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR ENGINE! You must first drain it all out and flush your system, filling it up only with water! - If following the directions doesn't work for you, do the same thing, but harder. Drive in 4th gear on the highways. Idle for 30 minutes at a higher idle than what the instructions are calling for. Drive more miles. Wait longer.

Amazing product.
I have a six cylinder petrol Toyota Landcruiser it was using over 1litre of water after traveling 1 kilometre . I put two bottles in the radiator followed the instructions I drove up the highway for about 20 minutes then let it sit overnight . The next morning I topped the radiator up and went for a spin and it didn't use any water . That was six weeks ago and its still fine.

Came on time but damaged and leaky.
Haven't used yet. Product arrived on time. Upon opening the box I saw that the bottles or one of them at least had a leak in them. Not very much loss of the product as it was on its side and so it didnt start really leaking until i put it upright onto the counter. I got it into a container relatively fast. Will update review after using.

works in a pinch if you follow instructions
Follow the instructions to the letter including the part about back pressure. I needed to disable 2 of 6 cylinders that were the worst for back pressure to give it a chance to set properly. Waited 24 hours, reenabled cylinders, ran again, waited 24 hours. take your time and be patient for best results. on a bad leak, repair lasted be 20000km before i observed issues.

Quick refund
Unfortunately this product did not work for me (2017 KIA Sorento) however company was true to their promise and promptly offered another application or refund. Since the product did not seem to have any positive effect I chose the refunded which was granted almost immediately. Three stars ate for service and integrity!
