Fits well on Kawasaki Vulcan S 2020
The instructions were somewhat limited. It comes down to having to remove three layers on both sides of the bike where you have to install the backrest. You won't need the last iron thing you remove anymore. Instead you attach the iron bars that come with the backrest, and then bolt back the remaining two pieces that you removed. We don't like what the luggage rack does to how the bike looks (which comes with almost any sissy bar that one can purchase). We looked at various Sissy Bars; it's not always clear whether the luggage rack is required to provide proper support. We didn't install it, we installed just the backrest. It doesn't seem that the luggage rack is required: the backrest is very sturdy without it. If we would ever change our mind, installing the luggage rack would be very simple. After having installed the iron bars that go on the bike, it turned out that the bars were quite wider apart than the bars on the backrest, meaning that one would have to bend to fit properly. I was afraid it would put the wrong forces on the bike, but it hardly does: it's the iron on the backrest that bends to the iron bars that are on the bike and not the other way around. All in all it looks sturdy and it looks as nice as one could expect, and it seems very good value for the money. Right now I have no indication that it will break any time soon.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NEARLY USELESS! Read this first!
This product is a high-value product of good quality. It is also the ONLY backrest I have found that you can install with the Kawasaki Factory Saddle Bags on the Vulcan S. If you have the factory saddle bags, this product is a great option. HOWEVER -- The directions are useless. They only provide a single, exploded-view assembly, and does not show you which bolts go where (they are different lengths.) Hence the reviewer who installed the longer bolt in a shorter-bolt location, and when a passenger sat on his bike (compressing the suspension) the bolt ripped into the rear tire! Further, the exploded view holes are in different locations than what is on the actual parts. So you have to figure out how each of the holes align. ANSWER: The luggage rack fits "inside" the backrest, and they both fit inside the main brackets, both aligned through the bottom two holes of the main brackets (see picture.) To attach the main brackets to the bike, remove the saddle bags, then remove the saddle bag hangers (with the two large bolts) then remove the plastic trim (remove the two screws holding it, and push towards the front of the bike and it slides off.) Then you have to remove the metal bracket that is already there, replacing it with the backrest brackets. The backrest bracket as the same hole pattern as the piece you are removing. You have to reinstall the plastic piece and put the two screws back in (don't tighten it) then wiggle it around to reinstall the saddle bag brackets through the big holes. I installed the brackets first, very loosely, then added the backrest and rack, made sure it was straight / aligned on the bike and tightened it down, then I went back to the side bracket and tightened everything down. Hope this helps!

Simple install. Looks great. Fits 650 Vulcan S
Super easy install. You will need a tool set. So donโt think you can do it without tools. As far as difficulty, barely any. When in doubt, ask YouTube. The seat does seem low quality at first but itโs pretty comfy. All parts and screws are included so thereโs no worries there. It looks really cool also. Fit my 2015 650 Vulcan S perfectly.

Bit of a pain to get together, but an awesome budget option.
Wife wanted to start riding with me, but wanted a backrest for when we stop. Didn't wanna light a few hundred on fire going with Kawasaki's, this is an AMAZING alternative. It's very sturdy, just steel and bolts. Took a while to get it together right, but it's pretty sturdy and fits well! THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS. Really take your time making sure you put this together correctly.
