Artists' Grade Gamsol Oil Color Size: 16.9 oz

The gamsol is a great solvent. I use this for cleaning my oil brushes in a Windsor and Newton Siicoil jar and it works great. I also use this as a thinner in a small bottle where I can put a drop out on my palette. The price is good and delivery is quick

I've only been painting with oils for a week but this is like water to watercolors it works good doesn't smell and from what I've heard cleans itself

I had to purchase this for an oil painting class I took. It's basically used to thin out the oil paint and it works great! It doesn't change the color of the paint and it's easy to clean up. I made a lot of paintings during that class so this was very helpful in making my oil paints last longer and get more use out of them.

I love playing with prismacolor pencils. I only recently learned about gamsol for blending... kinda makes the pencils work a bit like paint for a moment. I use a cotton swab but have now filled a waterbrush with it which really helps fine tune the application. Yes, you can use too much and it will go thru the paper. Try not to but allow yourself to experiment... maybe it doesn't matter if it goes thru (have something under it). Experiment. Play.

My wife is an amazing artist (setting aside my bias) but had never used oils before. We started watching the Bob Ross streaming channel and I slowly but surely talked her into giving it a try as an outlet for her creativity. After trying a host of products she was ready to throw away her brushes and send me to the couch. I had ordered the gamsol product based on a YouTube video and wow! She loves it and it has used it to work the paint so that it does what she wants and it has saved me from the couch. An amazing product with excellent performance, appearance and thickness. It should be considered as requisite as paint, brushes and a canvas when it comes to oil painting.
