Chasing Alys: An Angsty Rock Star Romance (Rhiannon Rock Star Romance Series Book 1)

This book was amazing. One minute I’d be laughing, then angry at Alys cause geez even I could see Ryan was head over heels for her! And poor Emily even though she’s the best friend you got snippets of what her life is like. On to the next I can’t wait to see how James gets Nia back!

Ryan is the very definition of heartbreaker. Women line up so he can rock their worlds, except Alys. She is determined to resist Ryan's charms. He has striking blue eyes and a voice that lights her up, but their beats are out of sync. She is definitely never again waking up to a stupid thank you note (for a night that probably should never have happened) from a guy who is already on a plane out of here. Heartbreak has been Alys's dance partner for years, but she is done. Love is a complication she no longer wants, especially from a rock star. If there is something about Ryan, maybe it is his charming determination to get past Alys's defences. He creeps into her heart and her head until she is so wound up in him there is only one way it can possibly end. -- I loved Ryan. He was kind, sincere, and romantic. Alys was untrustworthy because of being hurt too many times in the past. Her best friend, Emily, is feisty and fun. Ryan's band members were interesting characters. This was a five star book until the last issue between Ryan and Alys. That and having to sign up for a newsletter to read a bonus about Ryan and Alys made me give this only four stars. I may be too harsh about this, but I prefer books without all the drama around romance.

This book told one of the most touching love stories I’ve ever read. It was sweet, fraught with worry and passionate. I hope this book is part of a long series.

Wow, just wow! Alys And Ryan were interesting enough characters as were their friends. The story starts out, very slow, almost to the point of boring. Finally around the middle, it starts to get interesting and by the end it was fairly decent. I will not be in any hurry to read more about the band. The only character I would really like to know about is Emily

The h is a 26 year old production coordinator on tv/film sets. The H is the frontman of an up-and-coming alternative rock band called Rhiannon. They meet and the attraction is instantaneous. The only problem is the h has been burned in the past and is on a break from dating. The H is persistent though and keeps encouraging her to give them a chance. I liked this story and it didn't have a lot of drama. It had interesting side characters and likeable main characters. I've read both books 1 and 3 in this series and plan on sampling a couple more as well. This book is good enough to read once.

This is my first Morgana Bevan read and I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, I love Rock star genre and Chasing Alys was a different spin on the lifestyle that I truly enjoyed. The characters are believable and relatable. Alys and Ryan have some rocky times but love has a hold on them. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Ryan definitely had his work cut out to not only catch her, but to keep her. Alys had some deep issues to work through. I liked how Emily was such a good friend.

Ryan is the lead singer of a band and he wants to be with Alys. She has some trust issues though and is afraid to let him in. He's not going to let her go though. This book is nice and steamy.

I have admit that Rockstar Romances are usually not my go to genre but after reading Morgana’s debut book (Between Takes) I was intrigued by Alys and the brief glimpse we got of Ryan and I was enthralled with their story. I loved both Alys and Ryan equally, which is pretty strange for me as I normally have a favourite but with these characters I fell in love them both. As you would except with a rockstar romance, our main male character is flawed but in a way that makes you want to take him by the shoulders and wrap your arms around him. As a raising musician, it was a breathe of fresh air to see a shyness and awkwardness to this rockstar, it just makes you fall in love with him a little bit more. Just like our male character was flawed so too was Alys. Her need to protect herself from heartbreak was something that I could totally relate to, which made it so rewarding to see her open up through the book and let Ryan in. I loved that fact that she made Ryan work for her heart but also to see her character evolve into a more confident woman was a pleasure to read. Together, the chemistry between the couple was most certainly steamy and well written. The interaction between the characters never felt forced or rushed and I think because of Morgana’s attention to detail made their relationship more relatable. I love relationships that feel genuine. Overall, this was a fantastic book. It gave all the steaminess that I would except from a rockstar and his leading lady and the story line was well written with a high level of detail that made me feel like I was salsa dancing with Alys or stranding front row at Ryan's concerts. I seriously cant wait to read more from The True Platinum Series.

This was a fun story and kept a good pace. The characters were well developed. I will read book 2.

I really enjoyed the connection between Alys and Ryan. It’s a good thing he was persist, though I can understand her hesitancy. I look forward to the next in the series.

If you've been waiting to read this book like me, .... don't.... read it now!! For some unknown reason I have had this book on my kindle for some time. I now wish I'd read it ages ago, it's so good An up and coming rock star, with a single minded determination to win the girl, with the help of her best friend. Everytime he gets close they hit a bump. Will he manage to overcome her past? A brilliant read, now on to binge the rest of the series

Both characters are flawed but their vulnerability sets up this story so well for the slow burn but oh so steamy book it is.
