Cryptograms to Keep You Sharp

Lots of good cryptograms here. A couple of things I do not like: they do not include the author of the quote and sometimes words are left out of quotes, so they read awkwardly. Example: Trouble with many of the part-time workers is they are employed on full-time basis. What happened to THE at the start and A before full-time? It does not read correctly. Other than that, it is a pretty decent book.

Some puzzles are not that easy but I’ve been able to solve all of them with some work. They have hints to help but if you are good with solving you don’t need them to solve these. For me they’re just the Ishtar difficulty. I wish they gave the authors of the quotes.

Overall this is a decent value for the money I like the quotes. There's enough room to write the answers. The spiral format is a plus. I prefer more challenging puzzles.

This is a *wonderful* writing of cryptograms: stimulating and fun puzzles. The author constructed this book with providing three hints for each puzzle in succession, plus complete solutions in the back of the book. And fun ideas in the cryptogram solutions.Addressing the doubters here: (1) yes, the hints provide a glimmer of insight into the puzzle (but don’t give away the solution; that’s the point of a hint!); and (2) a *few* of the puzzles may omit 1 or 2 articles (the English grammar “articles”) in the solution, but I think that is to make the solution not as obvious, and that didn’t bother me at all.

Best cryptogram book ever!!! Plan to watch for more of this author and also planning on getting one for agift for a friend and I have never done that before!!!The paper was white and type was easy to read and not crowded. I love the wire binder cause don't have to press book open to stay open while I am working cryptograms. THIS IS A WINNER IN EVERY WAY FOR ME!!!! Would give it 10 stars if it was there. No eye strain which is major to me.Just in case this sounds over the top and you think I must know this author or fam, I do not know anybody regarding this book. I am just very excited to have a good quality and it is very easy on my eyes and that is major to me cuz I enjoy cryptograms immensely!!!!!

Book itself is very nice; good paper quality, spiral bound, and good size. However, there is not enough room between rows for our answers. Perhaps less puzzles per page would solve the problem.

Yes! Best cryptograms book I have ever bought. For many years I like to solve one everyday while having my lunch and this is the first book that really get me thinking and gives me a challenge - most of the time. So far I like the puzzle results, very clever. I wonder if the author creates them, because there isn't a credit - for who did. At first I did not like it because; there are names and initials which were not allowed in cryptogram puzzles, well maybe something like "TV" would be. Of course the spiral binding is great too.

Just what I was looking for after completely my stockpile of Cryptos from a collection of newspapers. I solve one every morning along with a Sudoku. Challenging and gets the brain in motion. It has always occurred to me that one needs a good grip of the English language and especially punctuation. The 3 hints might be helpful for those who are just beginners. Great to get started. I will definitely look on Amazon when i finish this book. Also, want to add that the spiral bound book is a welcome relief compared to the cheaper paper back types. Well worth the money
