It WORKS!
I was very skeptical of this item. I also thought it was a bit overpriced since I really only needed the insert, as I have the rest of the items. However I was thoroughly impressed with how it was packaged, and the instructions were so thorough and beautifully constructed. It is priced perfect for what you get. The installation was very easy due to the time that was taken to measure the installation tools to aid in putting it in correctly the first time.I could not give any recommendations on how to improve this kit, it was the best DIY kit I have ever purchased.Anyone with the N62 should have this kit on standby, as my pipe seal dramatically went out all of a sudden and I needed my E53 back on the road ASAP.

This works!
I have waited a couples weeks and a few miles before I wrote this review. So far, I have to say this product is working. Prior to this fix my X5 was leaking like Niagara Falls from the front weep hole.I decided I’d give this a go instead of the BMW top end tear down multi $k route. What I would recommend is to also do the water pump water pump pulley, all gaskets associated and drive belts while you’re in there. The instructions are very easy to follow and well written. I recommend using a dremel too speed up the sand process. If you’re careful with the dremel you’ll be able to really prep it the way it needs to be to fit in the stint.

It worked
This item saved a huge dollar repair estimate. BUT you must have 100% confidence in the person installing it, it’s a one shot deal or your engine is done. Directions follow to a T and ensure cleanliness and proper preparation and application. I would read everything & stand over them, if you don’t know them, bc once it’s in it’s not coming out, there is no redoing it. This info is from my bf who has been building engines for decades. He said he wished he had invented this, as it solves problems for specific expensive engines that have one common flaw for certain years of manufacture. Saved my engine and saved me Thousands.

wow what a great product and the inventor is an awesome guy to speak with for your concerns
I saw the Bimmer fix for the BMW545i V8 stent pipe repair saves you at least $2,000-$2,500 rather than going to the dealership or a qualified BMW repair shop I wish I could have invented a product that would help me with my retirement plan and he is a great guy to talk to and he stands behind his product 100% no dealership or repair shop would do that they would come up with some reason why their repair failed and give you an even bigger bill. Many Thanks and I will be glad to show and tell anyone that has a BMW Including a local foreign auto repair shop where the owner races BMWs

Read this prior to doing this yourself!
The important thing is that it works. It needs to be said, at least on the 2008 550i, it will take hours to do the sanding of the casting mark. The whole job took me 10 hours but if you know what you are doing it can be less.I am 5'4 and have small hands, if you have large hands, getting the bottom 10mm bolt out is going to be VERY hard. You may want to take the crankshaft pulley off, but you may need the 40$ tool to get the AC belt back on, and a torx set.If you only drain the coolant from the radiator drain plug, you will have a much more difficult time. Drain it from the whole engine.A good walk-through is on pelicanparts.com under N-62 coolant pump replacement.Be sure you have:A friend (for the water/coolant pump pulley counter hold.)T27 torx (good to have a long socket wrench with a flew head for this part)10mm socket and extension10mm open end wrench (smallest you can find unless you plan to take off the crankshaft pulley)Flathead screwdriverInspection mirror (not required, but good to have)Good pliersEnough coolant to fill it back up.An old rag.A flashlightALSO: you may come across some new problems or bad seals. The gasket/O ring on my coolant pump was done for. It is maybe 16$ for OEM. May be good to get these prior.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WARRANTY!
Bought this back in 2017, however, the part that you install in the car is a simple tube and failed after 2 and a half years. I was ready to buy a product from their competitor but I decided to contact the seller (Bimmerfix). The owner, Jeff, responded very quickly and offered to replace it. He even offered to call him anytime during the install process so he can answer any questions and assist me.Well, to my pleasant surprise, I got the replacement after 2 days, and when i opened it, I discovered that the design has changed and it follows the contour of the opening where you put the part. I contacted Jeff to thank him and we chatted for a few minutes about the "version 2" of this project.Weekend came and I started dismantling the part of my engine so I can remove the old part - it was a Sunday morning and got stuck with a step. So I decided to call Jeff on a Sunday morning and got hold of him!!This is top-notch customer service and Bimmerfix stands with their promise of lifetime guarantee! Please do not hesitate to purchase this product and support this company. Thanks a million Jeff!!
