Stock Prod works
The item works, Instruction just lacking on Assembly of the shaft onto the Stock prod power pack, this can take some effort for first time users, I recommend sliding the rubber collar all the way down to the base of the shaft and then rotate the nut onto the rubber collar, then you spin the shaft onto the power pack. Once installed you can rotate the shaft to any position.Installed four C size batteries, button in first = Positive side first.Tested out on metal surface, yes sparking seen on contact with metal, and verified after releasing button retouched metal and yes discharge seen from stored charge.

works great when you use it
works great when you use it! But dam I had the hardest time getting it together. I had to get on the phone with the seller whom did not seem to know what in the hell she was doing either! We played phone consultation all day. It was like I would ask a question and she could not answer on the spot. She would make her call later or call the next day and so on!

A great product to help persuade a reluctant cow to load in a trailer.
I am very pleased with this product. It uses two fewer batteries than my old one (4 vs. 6) did and seems to deliver a much more potent charge. Its construction is more robust than my old one I used for thirty some odd years. By the way, I am a cattleman and I use the cattle prod when a cow, bull, heifer or steer is reluctant to proceed down a chute or to load in a trailer. I know nothing about using it on dogs, sheep, goats or other creatures mentioned in reviews for competing products.

Good cattle prod
Effective and safe prod for moving cattle. The one shot residual charge takes some getting used to.

Works great
Solved my problem with two head of livestock that wanted to charge out the gate when I opened it to enter. It only took one lesson on each one and I no longer need the prod.

Better than nothing for sure
We got this because our Yak bull is very playful and friendly. He doesn't know that he is 2000lbs. When working out in the pasture it is reassuring that we have an escape route if necessary. We don't make a habit of shocking bulls or even messing with them, but the one time that he was aggressive this unit made him go away and mind his own business. Better than nothing for sure, but I wouldn't drop your guard regardless.

Only used it about five times to zap a dog at the fence, it was never dropped or gotten wet and I went to use it this weekend and it was dead so I change the batteries and it wasn't the battery is it still dead.
