No, no! Stop right there! THIS is the one you want!
UPDATE: I’ve now tried the green, blue-green, blue, purple, red, blonde, lavender and pink. I will tell more about those at the bottom of this review. I don't care what other hair dying products you have in those tabs behind this one, they're not as good as this one. I don't care if they're cheaper or promise to last longer. THIS one is the one you've been looking for. I have used permanent hair dye, semi-permanent hair dye, and color depositing shampoo. This one, the Punky Color 3-in-1 beats them all. Yes, I know I sound like a commercial but I'm serious. Let me 'splain... I've been alive a very long time. I always said I didn't care what color my hair turned as long as it didn't turn loose. But after waking up for the millionth time and seeing Benjamin Franklin staring back at me from the mirror I decided I'd had enough of "going gray". Now, I had no interest in dying my hair back to its original color. I'd lived with that for decades and, really, what's the point? I decided I needed a bold color, something shocking. I couldn't go red because my sister is a natural redhead and the last thing you want is your sibling pestering you with: "why are you copying me? why are you copying me? why are you copying me?" over and over...no matter HOW old you get. So, I decided on blue. I started with a regular blue hair dye. It took half an hour and stank like rotten meat. The smell lingered inside my sinuses for three days afterward. The color was okay but going through all that and watching it fade in less than a month was very disappointing. So I dyed it again. This time with an ammonia-free dye. This one looked okay and smelled much better, but it faded even faster. This was becoming exhausting. So I bought a color-depositing shampoo...sadly, not the Punky one. The shampoo was a complete mess. It took almost as long as the actual hair dye and stained everything it touched blue except the hair! It was gone in less than a week. In my desperation, I turned to the Punky Color 3-in-1 and I WISH I had done it sooner. Firstly, this is important...Punky will stain everything - including your skin and your clothes so make sure you wear gloves when you apply it and be diligent about wiping it off your skin as you do it. This is best NOT done while you're in the bath, so apply the shampoo before you get in and make sure you get it on all the hair as well as you can. Then let it sit. You can do it in about 5 minutes if you're very blonde, but if you're gray or dark haired then you want to leave it in longer. It says on the bottle that 10 minutes will leave a better color. And the best part is that it smells like bubblegum! Once you've left it in the correct amount of time, THEN get into the shower and rinse your hair or however you want to work that out for yourself. Rinse thoroughly until all the leftover color comes out. There is a LOT of excess color. But once it is done it has the brightest and shiniest color of any of the methods I've tried. And this is the part that Punky really gets wrong...they position this as something for a younger crowd but they should really market it for older people who want to get rid of their gray! The gray turns almost metallic with the shine and shimmer it gets from this product! It is beautiful! I wanted to add this too. The instructions won't tell you this but I think someone should. When you dye your hair for the first time and you get out of the shower you'll have one of two reactions. You'll either think: "gee, that doesn't look too bad I wish I'd done this sooner..." or "Oh, no! What have I done!". If its the former then welcome to Punky Color! If its the latter, don't panic. After the first day, when you do the dye and its fresh, it will look very intense. Give yourself 24 hours and then wash again. After that, it should even out and calm down and you'll see that it actually is wonderful having these fun colors. You had the courage to try it and that is the part that matters! It is okay to be unique. Celebrate yourself! GREEN: Not the poison apple green you want, more a bluish version of green, but still really vibrant. BLUE-GREEN: My favourite of all the colors! This is the Mermaid-esque color you want. I think they should rename it from “Tealistic” to “Viridienchanted”! If you know, you know. BLUE: Very dark but fades fast. Make sure you leave it in long enough or it will highlight your grays to almost white instead of actually dying them. PURPLE: Very dark, fades fast, but the fading is particularly beautiful, my hair looked like an autumn sunset. RED: I call it “red” because that’s how they’re selling it, and it goes in like cinnamon! But… After you rinse it settles into an almost burgundy color. This is NOT the candy apple, fire engine, stop sign, beef bouillon cube, Christmas morning wrapping paper red that you’re hoping for. Try their new line of Cotton Candy Foam colors for that. I think it’s called “Sugar Cloud”. Sounds delicious! BLONDE: Okay, this is only going to be for people with REALLY light hair. If your hair is darker it won't show up at all. If you're trying to highlight your grays so they're gold instead of silver...people won't be able to tell the difference. You can convince yourself that you see gold in them thar frills but everyone else is going to think its gray. I was really hoping for something more intensely blonde. LAVENDER: Like the blonde, if you don't have VERY light hair this isn't going to do anything but leave the merest hint of color in your hair. When I rinsed, the color was so pale you couldn't even see it in the water! There was a stronger concentration of color at the edges of my hair but most of it was so faint you wouldn't notice it. My suggestion is, if you want lavender then use the purple and just don't leave it in as long. PINK: I had such high hopes for this one but it really doesn't hit "pink" so much as it hits maroon. It is only a shade pinker and redder than the purple. If you're as blonde as Marilyn Monroe you might get this to be pink, but if you're anything darker than that, you're going to be marooned.

Great color, will stain but you can minimize and remove staining if you are careful
I have bought this twice and really liked it so I figured I'd leave a review to help other people. Essentially the best way I can put it is it will definitely stain a lot of things, especially if you don't wash it out very well, but it will come out of some things, not everything, and there are ways to prevent and minimize staining. That being said, once you have washed it and let it sit in your hair for a while, the color is very vibrant and can stay in for long enough that what I just do one wash with this shampoo and then next wash during is just with my normal shampoo and conditioner. It definitely will look a little bit lighter after the second round, but I don't need to go through the whole hassle every time (Especially because my whole hair isn't dyed blue. Before it was the bottom half was dyed blue and now it's streaks along the hair so I spend a little bit more time making sure I only apply it to those parts to conserve the product) bc the color will last long enough and it's pretty dark the first time. As for tips, firstly, I think 1 great tip that I saw was to basically put the dye in your hair beforehand and then rinse it off in the shower. I like to wear gloves and then in my gloves put a few pumps of a normal shampoo and then put mainly this shampoo, mix it together and then put it on my hair. This is particularly great because the dye, once it lands on literally anything, will immediately stain it. If you don't wash it off immediately, it will stay and by rubbing like the drier version on your hair before you get in the shower it really minimizes how much, for example, falls on your bathtub, the shower curtains, the wall, etc. At one point my bathtub was completely blue because of this, but I switched my method and I also was able to get it off with bleach and just a good sponge. If you don't want to do that strategy because it will take longer because you want to put it in and wait, what you can do is just wash your hair normally and then make sure that you keep the water running as you apply the shampoo to your hair in just smaller amounts so that if it ever does drip, it washes off immediately and doesn't stain your tub. I was able to pull this off a few times when I was like more in a Russian a place where I really didn't want to stain the place. Like I said it has stained my towel, it somehow got on my air pod but it stained my pillowcase and has stained some shirts but it pretty much came out of like my towel and my pillow.

Best shampoo ever
Bought it for the color but this is honestly the best shampoo I’ve ever used which is crazy since it’s a three in one. It smells like bubble gum, it revitalizes my punky red color, and it leaves my hair silky smooth and so soft and shiny. It will stain your tub pink, but it’s easy enough to clean off with most cleaners. I’m very generous every time I use it but it still lasts a long time. I use it once every ten days or so. You just put it in your hair like it’s hair dye and leave it for about ten minutes or so, then hop in the shower to rinse it out. Ta-da! Now you have colored and clean hair. I’ve been using this product for years now and I absolutely love it.

i wish i knew about this sooner!!! 🔥 💗
I used Punky Color over faded blue hair and was really happy with the results. It covered surprisingly well, although there’s definitely a bit of a learning curve when it comes to getting the exact look you want. The dye smells like sweet bubble gum, which is a nice bonus compared to other hair colors I’ve used. My only complaint is that it stains everything, so make sure you’re careful during application. Thankfully, Scrubbing Bubbles foam cleaner removed any stains from surfaces pretty easily. Overall, it’s a vibrant color that works well and lasts nicely

Absolutely beautiful color and definitely worth trying.
I ended up having a hair dye job that turned out to be a light green when I wanted like a dark green emerald bluish color and I was very unhappy with it and the lady who did it ended up doing like a super patchy job and I just felt grossed out by it. So then I had my friend use what I knew I liked which was the brand Arctic fox phantom Green. Which by the way, is an absolutely beautiful color whether your hair is bleached or not. However, unfortunately that color did fade very quickly on my hair and my hair was previously semi-bleached because like I said the lady did a really patchy job, and so I had my friend do the phantom green on my hair and it turned out beautiful faded. But then I found this and I put it on my hair after it faded back to its lime green color and I used this for 10 minutes last night and this is how it turned out. I'm absolutely in love with the color. The texture is super soft. My hair feels healthy even though it may not look super shiny, It's cheaper than buying hair dye. However it's probably not something you want to use everyday, maybe once or twice a week depending on how often you wash your hair, it does stain but can be cleaned off pretty easily, it does have a tendency to run when you're rinsing it. It'll look like a lot is coming out and you won't be able to get all of it out to where the water is clear. But if you just towel dry or blow dry it it'll work and it turns out beautiful gloves are definitely recommended, and if you have a shower cap that would help the process as well. I will be buying this again. I just won't use half the bottle next time and my hair is pretty long. It's down to the center of my back so half a bottle isn't bad. However, it being shampoo three and one I would say dye your hair, the color you want it to be and then find it in this shampoo and use it once or twice a week and you will upkeep your beautiful color. ❤️❤️❤️

Absolute does NOTHING it's supposed to do.
Absolutely nothing about this tonic works the way it's intended. I tried to use this supposed 3-1 in SEVERAL different ways, in the colour AuburnAmazing When I first received it, I was startled at how strong the pigment was. I was pretty apprehensive about it being too strong, but after reading the reviews, I still chose to followed the directions as written. Applied a generous amount to wet hair, worked it all in, and allowed it to sit. I chose to do 5 minutes since I was kind of scared of how strong the color deposit would be in refreshing my hair colour. After the five minutes, as I went to 'wash and rinse' this stuff did NOT have any kind of lather whatsoever. It just kind of slicked through my hair as the water ran through it. There was no kind of washing going on, and it did not condition in any sort of fashion, either. My hair was dry, and stringy, and felt sticky, even after the water rinse began running clear. Later on, when I brought my hair down and dried it, I braved the mirror and was appalled - at how NON COLOURED it was. My hair was still dull, dingy, and even more brown than auburn/coppery. It literally had made not a single difference whatsoever. The next day, I decided to be more dramatic. It was a strong pigment and perhaps, even tho it was intended to be applied to wet hair, since it didn't lather, it would take better to dry hair. So, I applied again - a generous amount - to my dry hair, this time. I allowed it to sit for 10 minutes, thinking perhaps my hair was the problem and just needed more time to absorb the pigment. Again, it didn't lather and left my hair even drier and stringier, so I used the tiniest bit of regular shampoo and some normal conditioner. When I got out the shower this second day, my hair was a touch brighter by the hairline, but other still unrefreshed, and still a duller and dingier brown, rather than brightening up my more auburn/ginger-y colour. About a week later, I decided - well, maybe my hair colour is just TOO old! Maybe it's been too long and it can't refresh what it doesn't see there. So I decided to purchase some of my regularly hair colour and do a full dye job. It was the colour I wanted, with even, and beautiful coverage, but was just a touch too dim since my hair was a little darker. It's suggested to wait two full days before washing freshly dyed hair, especially if you're using reds, so I waited three days before trying this shampoo again. Not to refresh an old colour, but to keep this new colour bright and vibrant! AND IT RUINED IT. The colour deposit shampoo finally did one job! It finally deposited colour! But, it did NOT deposit the colour it promised. Rather than being an Auburn, coppery fall colour - it coloured my hair - AND ONLY SOME OF MY HAIR, mind you! - bright, bright crayon red. Like, Spider-Man red. The red that some women have referred to as "mental breakdown" red. The kind of red I absolutely abhor and detest. And it wasn't even everywhere. It was in bits and pieces. Not at my hairline, but in streaks of my bangs. I had JUST dyed my hair with even full covereage, and have been doing it for 15 years. I am well versed in making sure I get even colour for my hair. THIS, however, deposited wherever it wanted to. The other strands it touched - couldn't be bother. It RUINED my beautiful even dye job. I have never had such a poor experience with a product, and certainly never multiple experiences. All of the reviews made me safe and secure in my purchase and I cannot believe I was burned so badly. Perhaps maybe it only works for more unnatural colours, as auburn/ginger is a very natural colour. It's the colour I grew up having, and slowly dims/browns oevr the years so I've been upkeeping it with dye since high school, so maybe my expectations or needs were unrealistic, despite my successes with normal dye over the years. Perhaps I just got a poor bottle, tho nothing indicates as such. It smelled fine, it stains my hands and tub for short periods, so I knew the colour was there. It wasn't clumpy. I truly have no idea, but I did everything I could have possibly thought to do with it and it is by and large the worst beauty product of any kind - facial, eye makeup, hair, nails, body scrub, you name it - the WORST beauty product of any kind I have ever had the displeasure of wasting money on and regretting, in my Life. If you're aiming for more natural hair colours, don't bother yourself with this mess. Just redye your hair and use a normal Colour Protecting - NOT a colour depositing - Shampoo. Saves yourselves the heartache.

Something’s different
I live this brand, always have, however this last time I purchased a bottle, something was off. Every time I have used their product (I’ve used almost every color) it has came out of the the bottle thick, smooth, and vibrant in color, and the turn out is always amazing. Except for this last purchase. I got the Mochanificent color and I’ve use it before, however when I went to open it for the first time, the product just poured out like water. I shook the bottle and tired again, but the consistency still remained. I thought it odd like the product was cut with water, but that’s okay I’ve used it before and I’ve done that with my own leftovers before. I used what I had already taken out, it looked the same. Very disappointed when my hair turned green. It’s never happened with this color before, and my hands were stained a blue green color. I get that there is green undertones in the product to achieve the cool tone event of the mocha to begin with, but this color turn out was just a swamp color mix on my hair and hands.

Works as Perfect Dye
Haven't been able to find a purple dye that looks a good as this color! I use this directly on bleached hair, leave it in for hour or two and it comes out perfectly. Then continuing to use it a couple times a week as regular shampoo keeps it vibrant for a long time.

Love love love punky!
Just love punky products! Bought this a couple of times along with the blue one for a purple-to-blue ombré effect and it looks stunning! Now trying red-to-purple ombré and it looks amazing too! Works fantastic on bleached hair and even when my roots came through (light brown) it still showed up but a darker purple. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants fun colours and vibrant hair! Works best with bleached or light hair and I use the shampoo about twice a week (once a week would probably be fine) which reignites the colour, but wouldn’t say you need to dye it any colours before for it to work! Love this stuff!

Works good ,smells awful, made me SICK!
I got my hair dyed Red from a Salon a month ago and it faded off so I bought this product just to refresh my Reds. Since I’m new to this colour and colour depositing shampoo, I bought this just because it was cheaper. This shampoo works well, thumbs up. I kept it on my wet hair for 10 mins and my Red hair looked beautiful like before BUT BUT- it smells horrible. In the bottle it smells like bubblegum and after applying on hair or mixed with water, it smells like ROTTEN GARBAGE. I’m not even exaggerating. I have sensitive nose and my nose can smell even slightest of smells. So this was too strong for me and I almost felt like throwing up. It actually made me sick for the whole day. 🤢 Next day the smell was gone. So girls, if you can bear strong smells you might try this. Not to forget , once again- the colour pay off is great. Also it stains everything - from your skin to your bathroom floor, so take precautions before using it Thanks for reading ❤️

HOLY crap
Holy cow. Last night in artificial light I couldn't see what it had done see above pics. But this morning holy s### it's like a beacon, I frigging love it. Gonna get some other colours too now. I'm hooked. My hair was originally dyed with just henna powder (light mountain) this is usually a semi permanent but as my hair is very porous it is permanent for me. I was getting bored with just ginger over my natural blonde. So I figured if this didn't work, no harm done. I've not bleached my hair in the slightest for over 4 years and grew every inch of bleached hair out. So yeah I'm pretty chuffed at this result as it means I don't have to destroy my curls with bleach to achieve a bright colour anymore.
