3 Inch In Floor Drain Trap Seal SureSeal

Placed in a infrequently used basement shower drain with a bell trap to stop sewage gases from entering the basement when the water would evaporate from the bell trap. Purchased this more expensive product compared to its competitors because it seemed like it was a more durable trap. But after a year of use in the shower drain, the flap door doesn't fully close. I think the trap should last longer than it did, but I do not see any warranty listed in the description.I gave the trap 2 stars because if it is used in a basement floor drain that would only be used in the event of an emergency, such as a washer machine hose bursting, it should last a long time and prevent sewage gases from entering your home.

We switched out the open metal drain covers for these. They work great! No more stinky sewage smell coming in from the basement.

Product does not look as advertised! Even the paper enclosed with the product does not show the product correctly. It seems the ad and the product enclosure are from an old or different product. May function similar - I have to admit, but why change the product and not update the pictures. Reviewing the product, I am questioning if it keeps the sewer gases really from rising up.

Works very well to keep smells out.

I write very few reviews but felt I needed to for this product. No one could figure out how to stop the smell in our basement shower. Water was in the trap, but somehow fumes were still coming up. Not horrible, but certainly enough to notice. We were looking at tearing the shower apart but thought for the price this would be worth a shot. It completely stopped any fumes from coming back up and I don't have to remove the twist plug that was in it every time we have a guest. So the shower is completely functional at all times. I don't care what it looks like, all I care about is that it worked and it works great. Highly recommended for the money spent. Sure beat tearing the shower apart.
