VM3252 No WiFi Video Baby Monitor, 2.8" Screen

Plugged the battery into the parent unit went on and after a few seconds made a weird sound and the screen faded until it went black. Plugged the unit to charge it but there is no charging indicator light whatsoever. Contacted both VTech and Amazon for support. Will update with the outcome. UPDATE: I reached out to Amazon customer support, since I live overseas, they offered me two options; first contact Vtech directly and if they didn’t offered a solution, they would help me out. After contacting Vetch via mail, they sent me some questions and asking for other stuff, they sent me a new package at no charge. So far the monitor and camera works great! It has really good image quality and has basic functions, just what my wife wanted.

This is the second set of this model we’ve purchased. Grandparents needed one at their house. Love it! It has great sound and night vision. The other features like zoom, temperature and being able to talk are great. One of the main reasons we got this model is because it’s not WiFi connected. The parent unit reaches a good distance and a new battery lasts around 3+ hours. (After almost two years of daily use the battery started to only last 30 min, but you can buy new or backup batteries on Amazon). We’ve set them up on the crib or up on the wall using command strips so there’s no damage.

I was very impressed with the picture quality. It doesn’t beep for every menu selection as others have mentioned. Night vision is also excellent. The built-in melodies (two very simple tones) and white noise-like options are nice but my baby isn’t too impressed. Then again, I got this mainly for the purpose of watching her to stay safe. The reception is also excellent; her room is on the second floor of a very big house, spread out with pillars/other rooms in the way, but still can see/hear her with no issues. There aren’t tons of fancy features and tons of melodies like other cameras may have, but I don’t need those. I am very satisfied with the quality and reliability of this device.

Easy to use. Seems well made and durable. Picture quality is good for daytime. Night vision has lack luster picture quality but still functions well. Sound quality is good, particularly on the highest volume setting. I can hear every single little noise on the high setting. Overall this is a good little camera and control unit that seems solid and durable, with good audio quality and daytime picture quality.

I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I am a caregiver so I bought 2 of these - one for me and one for a friend - to help us monitor our patients at night. The families are either unable or unwilling to purchase these for us to use so we got them for ourselves. My friend's clients wouldn't let her use hers, so I'm going to use them both now. My client can get up at night on her own so I install and uninstall my cameras for my 48 hour shift. My client is a fall risk, has dementia and is nearly always horribly confused especially at night or whenever she falls asleep. These help me to monitor her even as I sleep and when I'm doing housework! ⭐I was very sad when I realized that I could NOT use both cameras on a single parent unit, I'll have to take both parent units & set them up. 😫 ... Oh well. At least the hard part is DONE which is to purchase them! ⭐They DO work right out of the box! **Look on the side of the cameras and flip the switch to ON or they won't work!** I was freaking out the first time I bought them because of this issue! 😅👍 Don't be a goof like me!😁 ⭐I bought used ones. On a full charge they last about 6-7hours. I try to keep the parent unit plugged in unless I take it with me to the bathroom or when I shower. ⭐Night vision gets dark because it tries to save battery and you have to click a button to make it get a bit brighter again. Don't get me wrong, this IS NOT a deal breaker - just a minor inconvenience! It works very well though, if you have a night light ON in the room. (I keep the hall light on for more clarity.) ⭐Conclusion - I DO LOVE these monitors! So useful and helpful!

We've had this unit only for a week now, so I will come back and update this if things change but so far, for the price, you really can't beat it (I purchased it while it was on sale..not sure what it'll be by the time you read this though!). We were looking for an affordable monitor to replace the one we've had for 2 years now that's on the fritz (also a VTech). I was willing to skimp a little on *some* of the features, but the one thing I absolutely needed was the temperature feature. I purchased a similar model a few weeks ago and the readings were wildly inaccurate. I'm glad to say this one is pretty much spot on. I like that the camera itself has an adjustable neck so that you can position it just so. I mounted ours on the wall and adjusted it to get the exact view I wanted. The parent unit itself has a smaller screen than what I'm used to, but I can still see pretty well. The picture quality leaves a little something to be desired, but it's acceptable. The night view is the same, acceptable but not totally crystal clear - there is some graininess. Now, on the unit itself, unfortunately you can't pan the camera BUT, you can pan the camera when you zoom in, which I appreciate. I like that you can set the temperature alert, but was a little annoyed that you can't set the max. to lower than 77 degrees. You can on the prior model VTech that we had, so I'm not really sure why you can't on this one. Regarding people saying you can't mute the unit...I'm not sure what they are referring to. I am able to turn the sound on the parent unit down all the way until it shows a mute icon, and I went in the room to test it out and no sound was emitting from the unit. The lullaby feature works nicely, no complaints there. All in all a good monitor for the price, assuming it lasts :) Will report back if it doesn't.

We had the older model of this product and it lasted 10 years and we used it every single night. We use it for my son that has epilepsy, and I particularly like the sound sensitivity option - it only turns on when the noise in his room gets to a certain level. Which is helpful at night otherwise I am awake hearing every little thing. I can also talk to him through the monitor if he needs anything else. The new model that we just bought has the color screen, the same camera. This monitor is meant to last!

I really like just about everything with the camera. Picture quality is really good for the price point. I like the feature to be able to talk. Night vision picture is really nice. Was east to set up and install. However the handheld portion, the battery at first was good. It last a long time. But now haven’t even had it a week and cannot get the battery to charge past half life . It’s not lasting more than an hour now so due to this I have to leave it plug in just about all the time. Super annoying.

Camera is good, even at night I can see the baby. But monitor is losing the charge very quickly and losing the connection in some rooms of the big house

Très bien elle fait le travail pour le prix ! On voit très bien la nuit. Par contre le son n'est pas le meilleure il sonne écho. Elle va loin en terme de distance. La batterie n'est pas très longue, moins que mon ancien d'une autre marque. Elle dure environ 5-6 heures sans brancher. Pour notre part, elle nous satisfait amplement.

we use this as our secondary camera, as our main one is higher quality and mounted. this works absoltely fine. the picture quality could be better, but its fine to see if the baby is doing okay. battery life is pretty decent as well. No complaints at all.
